Recently, Corona Extra, the product of Grupo Modelo in Mexico, recently unveiled their latest Commercial as a part of their Corona Summer 2016 campaign. The video, which features a travelling Corona Beer can, uses the late Rocksteady Artist Hopeton Lewis’ 1966/67 hit, “Take It Easy (Get It Here)“. The single was produced by Sam Mitchell for the Merritone Label and was considered the song that heralded the ascension of Rocksteady music movement. Hopeton Lewis was also known to record in Jamaica the first ever song about Marijuana (Cool Collie), and had a good run of hits in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Lewis was also the founder of the Hopeton Lewis Caribbean Gospel Music Awards and owner of Caribbean Gospel Jubilee (CGJ), an Online Radio Station. Just a few days after the release of Fever, the first single from Vybz Kartel’s “King of the Dancehall” album, the accompanying video has already amassed over 300 thousand views on YouTube. The video was directed by Jay Will/ Game Over who creatively conceptualized the masterpiece.
The video is a raunchy, sexy one that brings the words of the song to life. The lead girl in the video suffers from uncontrollable heat in her dreams, bringing on a “fever”; when she awakes she is feverish and covered in sweat. No doubt the video will continue to grow in popularity, as comments are pouring in by the minute.The song Fever comes as an instant gratification when someone purchases “King of the Dancehall”, which was made available for pre-order May 6th exclusively on iTunes.
Distributed by Zojak World Wide, the album will be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers on June 3rd, the same day the third instant gratification track, ‘Colouring This Life’, will be offered in the iTunes store. Apple Music will offer exclusive streaming one week before the album is available for download on June 10th , a service usually reserved for major label artists.
