Christmas time is upon us yet again, and we look forward to what’s in store. As usual, we have to put you on to some holiday music, and on “Oldies Sunday“, have some classics. Today’s selection comes from the Island of Grenada. We feature Recording Artist Ajamu’s track, “Ah Want A Little Something“.

Produced by Edson Mitchell a.k.a. Ajamu and released through Charlie’s Records in 2001, Ajamu gave the people another in his line of Christmas music with, “Ah Want A Little Something”. The song finds him making a couple requests for his fans. He has been known to deliver a song for the holidays yearly, and while he does it for the people, he’d love for them to give back to him for the season. He delivers musical gifts, but wishes for a gift or few himself. He kindly asks throughout the song, and hopes it won’t cause any problems after. “Ah Want A Little Something” was featured on his 2001 album, “Christmas Soca Parang“, and is one of his signature Parang hits.

Dancehall Artists Elephant Man and Busy Signal step in to add to the holiday vibes with, “Party Anthem 2.0“.

In a LCRJ Media-directed Music Video, Elephant Man and Busy Signal emphasize the party aspect of the holiday season with the visual for their “Party Anthem 2.0” collaboration. Taking it to the house, we see the liquor flowing, the girls dancing, the money flying, and the good vibes increasing by the second. If you feel it’s too hot, then you can take a dip in the pool around the back. Be careful in your explorations, you may be interrupting a fun moment. Ele and Busy further solidify their friendship, and deliver with their collaboration that will make its rounds. We urge you all to stay safe in your adventures this season, and remember to have fun. He shared his much-anticipated debut album, “H.Y.M. (Hope Yuh Memba)“, and followed it up with the track, “Fully Prayers“.

Earlier this year, Dancehall Artist Govana released his sophomore album, “Legacy“. The project was well received for its content and themes, and many have shared it should be one of the year’s best releases. Govana has shared some important thoughts on the project including his life when it’s all said and done. On “My Will“, he thinks about the future.

In a Djuvii-directed Visualizer, Govana speaks on leaving a legacy on “My Will”. He thinks about what he will be leaving behind when he passes on, and urges that the people he leaves behind take care of his legacy, carry on his name in a positive way, let there be no fights and quarrels over what he worked hard to achieve and pass on. Govana is seen connecting with nature in the clip, and he channels his important message over production by Crash Dummy. December we’re here, and that means Christmas is around the corner. There will be plenty to be festive about, including new music! Production duo Circa Eleven are getting involved in the festivities this time around, and they have a new EP for the holidays. It’s time to update your holiday playlists with the new “Peppa Lights” EP.

Featuring 3 tracks, the lineup of Recording Artists Gio Mar (son of Wayne Marshall), Jay YGT, and Rizk are celebrating a “Dancehall Christmas” with Circa Eleven on “Peppa Lights, Vol. 1“. What started out as a conversation during a TikTok live about the need for some Dancehall-themed Christmas music this past November, quickly turned into a series of recordings from a number of Artists. When approaching the creation of the EP, Circa wanted to pay tribute to classic Christmas music on the production while the Artists shared their own prospectives when it came to Christmas music. On “First Christmas“, Gio Mar shared his need for his special person for the holidays, on “Holiday Time“, Jay YGT sought to rekindle some lost love for the season, while Rizk was in a festive mood as he parties away on “Jolly Dolly“.
