Today December 12 marks another year on earth for Dancehall’s favourite Mermaid, Tifa! With a year that saw many ups and downs, we know today’s a blessing for her. Celebrating her life and career, we compiled “The T-I-F-A Playlist“! With hours of hits, ladies can reveal the inner hot gal and “dash out” to this, and the fellas can prepare for the many moves they’ll perform with their “Champion Bubbler“. An Artist who has stepped outside the box many times and sealed her spot as one of the great Female Dancehall Artists, we have nothing but respect for her over here. One gripe some may have with the Playlist however, some of the hits were missing, but we blame the folks responsible for distribution for that. Produced by Dale Virgo of DZL Records, the “Money Mogul” details the life this young lady lives, and the trails of broken people she left behind in pursuit of the “Cheese“, “Moula” and “Dollarz“! She’s not about falling in love, she has been down that road and it caused nothing but hurt. Thinking about making her a honest woman? Good luck. The track is one of many that Senita has on schedule to release for the rest of the year and 2019. Be on the look out for a project being released through DZL Records in the coming months. For those who know their Magnum Kings & Queens competition history, Senita was a runner up 10 years ago and has been releasing singles and videos since. Dancehall & Reggae Music continue to influence many worldwide whether through the various sounds, lyrics, or even some of the people who create from the genres. Today’s entry is no different as famed Hip Hop Producer 9th Wonder dabbled in a bit of the sounds in his latest compilation album, “Jamla Is The Squad 2“! While the album features a host of tracks for every flavour, it’s the opening track that will surprise and awe many. On “Welcome To JamRoc“, the opening vocals come courtesy of Dancehall Artist Quick Cook, while the following production samples Damian “Junior Gong” Marley’s “Welcome To JamRock“, and Ini Kamoze’s “World A Music“. With 9th tackling the production, Rapsody, Heather Victoria, GQ, Reuben Vincent, and Ian Kelly provide the lyrics that go well with the dope sounds. This isn’t the first time 9th sampled Jamaican music as he borrowed sounds from The Mighty Diamonds on the tracks “L.A.” and “Bad Man” by MURS, and Third World on the track “Let It Go” by Little Brother. If you were under a rock for the past couple weeks, Dancehall Artist Spice dived into the sea of controversy and had the people talking. With a skin bleaching stunt to promote her black positive single, the Deejay and now Reality Show Star topped it off with the release of her latest Mixtape titled, “Captured“. Since the releases, Spice has been a never ending topic to discuss. While all that is well and good, what probably slid under the radar for many, is she gave us another side of her musical prowess to enjoy, singing in Spanish! On the track titled “Fiesta“, Spice gets into some Latin production and delivered! While the mixtape featured some of her usual arsenal, this unique entry is one that should garner numerous repeats.
