450 Announces Debut Album, “Pieces Of Me”

Dancehall Artist 450 has done a lot for his career in a short amount of time. From securing hit singles, receiving bookings from around the world, to sold out shows, to brand deals, this journey of his was not an easy one. Thanks to a team who believed in him, the 450 brand has climbed to levels that were once unattainable. The Deejay looks to embark another milestone with the announcement of his debut album, “Pieces Of Me“.

Over the weekend, 450 premiered the trailer for his upcoming debut album, “Pieces Of Me”, and it looks like we’ll be in for a ride. Directed by Damaniac Visualz, the video starts with an old Man who turns out to be 450’s father, making his way to a Church where the Deejay is found seated inside. The Deejay is given some wise words from his Father before he is left with a clock to let him know that his time is here, and he should make the most out of it. Fans of 450 can get ready for the new album as it’s set to be released on April 25 on all digital music streaming platforms through Tru Ambassador Ent.

Jamaican Author Marlon James, the mind behind the multi-award-winning “A Brief History of Seven Killings” book among several other literary works, is ready to take his creativity to new arenas as he gets into Filmmaking. In December 2021, he announced that he will be writing and executive producing a TV series called, “Get Millie Black“, that was focused on Jamaica and the UK. After all the writing, the casting, the shooting, and the post production, the series will be aired on HBO in the US, and on Channel 4 in the UK come November!

“Get Millie Black” stars Tamara Lawrance, Joe Dempsie, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr, and Chyna McQueen, the series focuses on Jamaican-born Detective Millie-Jean Black as she is exiled out of Scotland Yard, taking up a role in the Jamaican Police Force. Along with Curtis (played by Dempsie), she investigates missing person cases, but one particular case stands out, and her pursuit to solve it looks to take a huge impact on her life. The series was shot in Jamaica and parts of London in 2022, and aims to give the world even more coverage of content that has a focus on Jamaica. Former Dancehall Artist Lady Patra will guest star in the series, and a number of Jamaicans participated in the making of the series including popular Video Director Djuvane “DJuvii” Armstrong, and prominent Director Tanya Hamilton, who has at the helm of the entire series. For those who need a new TV show fix, stay tuned as “Get Millie Black” is set to go live on November 25 on HBO, HBO Max, and Channel 4.

Tolga Akcayli Shares Original “Jamaica No Duppy” Anime Trailer, Seeks Crowdfunding Efforts

It’s no secret that Jamaicans love Cartoons. For decades they have been entertained by many kinds that range from 5 minute shorts, to full length movies. There is a percentage of them that love Anime. The Japanese styled Animation has found favour with them thanks to Cable/Satellite TV, VHS, DVD, Print, Video Games, and the Internet over the years. For years there have been discussions for the Island’s best Creatives to make original Anime content with a Jamaican background. While there have been attempts, Vincy Filmmaker Tolga Akcayli looks to make it a reality with his “Jamaica No Duppy – Rise Of The Conqueror” idea.

What originally started as a joke on Social Media platform TikTok, “Jamaica No Duppy” is coming to life, and it needs your help. The Anime focuses on a Samurai who finds himself stranded in Jamaica, and tries to navigate through the Island and its natives in dialogue and other ways. “Jamaica No Duppy” was made possible through years of research and encouragement from Social Media, but like all productions, it costs to put together. Tolga Akcayli made the first major step with a concept trailer that was premiered over the weekend, and is seeking financial help to bring the full Anime to life. The series is still seeking talent, and with the assistance of Crowdfunding platform GoFundMe, Akcayli is campaigning, and you can chip in. It has been suggested for years and many claimed that they will take on the roles of directing and acting, but a Bob Marley Biopic is finally here! Come 2024, we will get to watch “Bob Marley: One Love“.

Under the direction of Reinaldo Marcus Green and Ziggy Marley the Producer, and the blessing from the Marley family, we get a Biopic that has been years in the making. The Film will cover the rise of the Bob Marley, including his assassination attempt that lead to the legendary “One Love Peace Concert“. British Actors Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch will play Bob and Rita Marley respectively, while Hector “Roots” Lewis, Naomi Cowan, Sevana, Sheldon Shepherd, Annalise McClure, Cornelius Grant, and Aston Barrett Jr. are just some of the names who play vital roles in the new Film. It’s safe to say this will be one of the greatest Biopics ever, and we can’t wait to see it in 2024. “Bob Marley: One Love” will be released through Paramount Pictures. Bob Marley’s legacy continues.

After announcing it recently, Digital Artist KxrlyMiyagi and the REM Collective have officially released the trailer for their GIF-based Miniseries, “REM II: Return Of Real“. The trailer gives users a 90’s feel as they throw in a short backstory along with a glimpse of the protagonist. Music for the trailer was provided by REM Producers Palace Pikney and SNR Beats.
