It’s Friday, so that means new music, and you’ll be dancing to this one. East German GRAMMY-winning DJ/Producer Tino Schmidt a.k.a. Purple Disco Machine is here with new music, and he brought along a couple friends. Get ready learn, “Honey Boy“.

Produced by C41 and LA/PAC, Purple Disco Machine’s “Honey Boy” features legendary Musician Nile Rodgers (of the legendary Chic band), Dancehall/Pop Artist Shenseea, and main vocals by Benjamin Ingrosso. The track speaks of a young man whose life changed when he crosses paths with a Woman who changes his life for the better. Rodgers assists the production with some great Guitar while Shenseea lends her vocals on the pre-chorus, chorus, and backing vocals throughout the track. The energy this track gives off along with the disco vibes will have listeners dancing with no hesitation, and it showcases Shenseea’s crossover appeal going in the right direction. For all the flack she has gotten for her music releases in the past few years, this is the direction I expected when Shenseea said she wanted to dabble in other genre. Accompanying the track is a Music Video directed by Alice Fassi and it shows the “Honey Boy” character morph into a Golden Boy who is the talk of the town.

The game of Cricket is in the air, and it’s that time for a grand event. Come June 1, the world will be tuning in to the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Tournament. Many will tune in for the wicket-taking, the sixes and fours, the rush from the game, and of course their favourite team winning it all in various locations in the US and Caribbean. Ahead of the tournament, Dancehall Icon Sean Paul and Soca Icon Kes teamed up for the official anthem for the World Cup titled, “Out Of This World“. Earlier, they shared the official Music Video.

“Out Of This World” captures the spirit of Cricket, the people who enjoy it wholeheartedly, and with Sean Paul and Kes on board, the music adds to the excitement. The visual starts off at the Beach where many soak up the sun and play a few games of Cricket, to friends enjoying a moment of unity, and capping it all off with a concert where the Artists take the stage. Highlights of various past matches can be seen throughout, and a few of your favourites make appearances in the video including “The Universe Boss” Cricket legend Chris Gayle, Cricket legend Shivnarine Chaunderpaul, and Usain Bolt with his Jamaica flag in hand ready to wave. “Out Of This World” was produced by Tano, and released through Dutty Rock Productions, and Ineffable Records. 20 teams vie for the trophy in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, get ready. Howzat!

When you hear the voice, you know he’s about to deliver a hit. D’Yani has been making this happen for quite some time, and his catalogue continues to win over the Women, and secure his spot as one of the best to do it. One thing for sure, you’ll find him with a beautiful lady in his space, but this time around, he meets a “Goddess“.

With a video directed by Jesse James, D’Yani gets lost in the Women in “Goddess”. The video first finds him showering his leading lady (played by Video Vixen Mocha), but later finds himself surrounded by a few irresistible beauties. D’Yani definitely delivered on this track, and the production by One Army Ent. and Downsound Records compliment his vocals all the way. It’s been a while since Producer/Recording Artist Leftside has stirred up the music scene, and it’s also been a while since his alter ego “Doctor Evil” caused some mischief. While the villainous side will soon emerge, the party side is ready to mingle and have some fun. Leftside stepped out recently with the new single, “Wee“.

In a performance video directed by Icey Jace Films, Leftside is all about having the time of his life in “Wee”. Hijacking the recently-released “Fiesta Riddim” that was produced by DJ Mac/Crash Dummy, Leftside has his sights on the ladies and the way they move to the music, and he needs to get acquainted with them all. When he pulls up in the Benz/Bimma/Audi, you better pay attention when he is in the party mood. He originally previewed the track on TikTok, and now is ready to make a grand return to the scene, and make Summer 2024 a special one. Other Artists who tackled the “Fiesta Riddim” so far are Armanii, and Elephant Man, who secured a hit with the original version of the Riddim from 2001. Ready to party, karamu, fiesta, forever?

Antiguan Soca Diva Claudette Peters shares the same sentiment, but she needs herself some time off so she can get back to being the Diva she is. In her words, she needs a “Mental Day“.

Produced by ChippyG and Brukway Production, Claudette Peters is stressed out, and she shares what she’d really like to do on “Mental Day”. With the Antigua Carnival season gearing up for a hot Summer, Peters wants to dance, get on bad, and enjoy life the way she should. Work causes many to be fed up, so having time off helps to give the person a chance to recharge, and with the way how our Mental Health has been over the past few years, we all need a break. If you can’t get that time off yet, put yourself in a place mentally where you can party with the people, enjoy the sounds of Carnival, and harness that good energy till it happens in real life.
