With his name being spread to a larger audience and a debut album on the way, Popcaan has come a long way from being a former member of Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire. Tonight he had a chat with Winford Williams about the things that are going on in his life. Here he spoke about his former boss’ guilty verdict and sentencing, gaining popularity overseas and his experiences, staying away from conflicts and being a big part of his family, his debut album “Where We Come From“, and his upcoming performance in Jamaica. Winford Williams also gave Popcaan some words of encouragement in the end and I also liked how he spoke about his little brother’s progress. Switching up the gender role today is Deejay Spice with her new video. Titled “Like A Man“, Spice speaks on the gender inequality in Dancehall and asks if she would be respected more if she was a male deejay and dropped different lyrics. She also introduces “Splice“, the male version of Spice which was rather hilarious and shows her on camera diversity. Titled “Yellow Yellow“, we hear lyrics about getting fresh gear and jewelry, and having all the girls go crazy over them anywhere they go. This tag team may have done it again, the only problem is that Kartel won’t be around to perform it live with Rvssian. From beauty products to food to clothing, Downtown has it all. I love this single as it sounds like it could be Downtown’s theme song. You can never deny that Vybz Kartel is a lyricist and made a song for anything. If only Kartel didn’t get caught up in crime.
