On today’s Oldies Sunday, we look back at a single from the “Doctor“, Beenie Man! Recently he celebrated his 44th birthday, and we wanted to show love to one of the living Legends of Dancehall. Today we look at “Maestro“, an Opera inspired single that was produced by Patrick Roberts for Shocking Vibes Production on the “Sore Riddim” and released in 1996. Here Beenie further proclaims being “The Girls Dem Sugar” and shows love to the ladies who command attention, and are the “Wife” type. What really makes this single stand out, is Beenie’s delivery which is similar to an Opera Singer’s. “Maestro” was the first track featured on Beenie Man’s 1996 Album of the same name.
When the times are good and bad, you need to send up a prayer or two a day. Today, Beenie Man and Anna Mariah encourage listeners to exercise this in “Pray A Psalms“. Produced by Adrian Locke for LockeCity Music Group on the “Prayer Wata Riddim“, Beenie speaks on the various events that have affected the world over the years, reading a Psalm a day keeps the devil away, and the ways of man. A good collaboration as Beenie delivers Social Commentary while Anna Mariah delivers the message over a mellow Production. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
If the original wasn’t hype enough, then the remix is crazier. With the success of Future Fambo’s “Bloodclaute Song“, he enlisted Dancehall heavyweights Beenie Man, Demarco, and Sean Paul for the remix! Produced by Stylez and Magnedo 7, we hear each artist adding their own energy to a single that has been very hot in the streets since its release. Fambo has definitely found another hit as he preps his “Evolve – The Uprise” album. If you like the “Bloodclaute song“, check it out below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

It’s a special night for the “Doctor” Beenie Man as he celebrates his 42nd birthday and Onstage ensured it was an even better event. Starting off with a toast, tributes and a “Happy Birthday” song, Beenie’s day was well celebrated. Here he spoke about some great moments in his life and career, and later went on to perform some of his hits. An entertaining set by the Birthday Boy, I wish him nothing but long life and more success. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
