Alkaline Drops Video For “Earn Your Way”

Dancehall Artist Alkaline has a method to his madness, and it is working. With a career spanning over a decade, it’s commendable that he has maintained a strong following through all the wins and controversies. He even gets cosigns from former opponents. With his annual “New Rules Festival” crossing more seas this year, he’s ensuring that the music is in rotation. Earlier, he released the video for the single, “Earn Your Way“.

Directed by DeusBeni, Alkaline is living it up like a boss in the Sponge Music-produced “Earn Your Way”. Whether he’s overlooking the sea in a fancy Yacht or tearing through the waters in a Jet Ski, he shares a few words for those who think they’re in the same league with him. With Alka’s success comes enemies, and he has stepped up to the plate against a number of them over the years. Beefs aside, he’s still one of the top Dancehall Artists on the streaming platforms, and despite his mysterious ways on Social Media, the fanbase continues to grow and support his every move. It’s still Detta SZN.

Kkrytical Delivers The “Roughest” Single

For a number of years, Dancehall Artist Kkrytical has been causing a scene with style of music. Armed with hard hitting lyrics and an aggressive flow, he has been building a movement, with the goal of becoming one of the top acts out. He’s making progress, and staying consistent in the meantime. Recently, he released the visual for the single, “Roughest“.

Directed by Steel Mafia Films, Kkrytical is not here for the foolishness, and is ready to take down anyone who stands in his way in “Roughest”. He keeps the tools of the trade close for those who seek war, and he has a team that is on call for whatever. Do not compare him to anyone else, and he emphasizes that in the TopRanks Ent.-produced track. The Deejay continues to pressure the Dancehall scene with new music, and we can expect to hear even more from him leading up to Summer 2025. The badness however, continues all year round, and he’s not letting his guard down.

Kkrytical’s “Roughest” along with music from TopRanks Ent.’s Wynta was recently featured on DJ Treasure’s new Dancehall Mixtape. For those who need to get familiar with music coming out of the TopRanks Ent. camp, tune in to this one, and keep it in heavy rotation. The Mixtape can be found below.

Adina Edwards "Don't Forget To Remember" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #GospelMusic #Music #13thStreetPromotions #AdinaEdwards #DontForgetToRemember #BeeGees #1972 #OldiesSunday #Oldies #OldSchool #WomensHistoryMonth #WomensMonth #Caribbean #TommyCowan

OLDIES SUNDAY: Adina Edwards – Don’t Forget To Remember (1972)

The Month of March is recognized as “Women’s History Month“, and we recognize a few great Women who made significant contributions to Music. Today’s selection on “Oldies Sunday” comes from Adina Edwards with the track, “Don’t Forget To Remember“.

Produced by Tommy Cowan and released through Dynamic Sounds in 1972, “Don’t Forget To Remember” was Adina Edwards’ cover of British-Australian group The Bee Gees’ 1969 single. The song speaks about someone who is dealing with a breakup, and shares with their former lover that they still love them, and they should keep them and their memories close, and never forget them. The original was delivered in a Country Music style, but when Edwards took the reins, she delivered with in a soulful way that made even Church folks sing praises. The song would later be featured on her 1973 album of the same name, and become a very popular selection in Jamaica, making Edwards a household name. She made history as being the third Woman in Jamaican music to make it to the top 10 charts in 1972, a feat that took some time to happen as the music scene was Male-dominated, coming in at number 8. Adina Edwards was a blind Singer who was known to frequent parts of Kingston in the 1960s where she sang and played musical Instruments (namely the Accordion and Piano) in the streets for donations. She was first known for her performance during her time at the Salvation Army Institute For The Blind in 1939, and would enter a number of talent shows over the years, winning over the crowd. A chance meeting with Tommy Cowan would change her life for the better, and he would produce a number of her singles, ranging from R&B, Soul, Calypso, and Gospel, but would lean more to Gospel music in later years. She also collaborated with Byron Lee (who signed her to his label), Joe Gibbs, and “Sir Coxsone” Dodd, and released three albums. She also released music through a label called “Help The Blind“, we believe it was owned by her. She was a true believer of not letting her disability hinder her greatness.

Since the release of “Don’t Forget To Remember”, Adina Edwards would release more music, but would soon become well known for her Gospel releases, making some consider her a “Queen of Jamaican Gospel Music“, inspiring many Gospel Artists. She would continue to perform at various events over the years, racking up praises from those who experienced her music. She is mentioned in the book, “Songbirds: Pioneering Women in Jamaican Music“, and her famous Accordion was donated to The Jamaican Music Museum. Outside of music, she was a loving Mother who adopted a number of children, and also ran a Nursery in Kingston during the 1970s where she took care of 48 children. Edwards passed away in 2008, but her legacy lives on.

THANK YOU Adina Edwards FOR THIS HIT!

Looks like Ghanaian-American Recording Artist Moliy found gold with this one. Since late 2024, the Singer has been pushing her single, “Shake It To The Max (Fly)“. Paired with a catchy dance, it went viral on Social Media, especially on TikTok, and her name started to spread to more parts of the world. Still receiving a lot of love, we finally get the Music Video for “Shake It To The Max (Remix)” featuring Dancehall Artists Shenseea and Skillibeng.

Directed by Fernando Hevia and shot in Jamaica, Moily had to touch down on Jamaican soil to make the video for “Shake It To The Max (Remix)” possible. The video features dancers putting on their best moves along with the viral dance, flashy fashion, product placement (send us a case), and all around good vibes that add to the energy that the single gave to the world.
