Elephant Man Releases Visual For “Walk Out Gyal”

Today’s National Heroes Day, and we salute those who have fought and sacrificed their lives in advancing Black people in Jamaica, and inspiring many outside of the Island to do the same for their countries. We use this time to salute our musical heroes, as many of them made efforts to put Jamaica on the map with their work for decades. One of those heroes is Dancehall Artist Elephant Man, and earlier he shared the video for his new single, “Walk Out Gyal“.

Directed by Ramon Lindsay, Elephant Man takes it to the streets in “Walk Out Gyal”. The Deejay shouts out the Women who live with certain morals and values, and they show up in their numbers in the video. The visual incorporates some aspects of the Pocomania culture, with some donning garments that are usually worn during ceremonies. Elephant Man continues to keep the content factory in business, and he has no plans on shutting down anytime soon. With his 30 year anniversary in Dancehall coming up, we can expect even more from the Deejay. Walk out against negativity.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Prince Far I – Jamaican Heroes (1980)

Tomorrow (October 21) will be celebrated as “National Heroes Day” in Jamaica. The yearly event recognizes the works of those who fought for our freedom, and highlights the everyday hero who has made sacrifices over the years, and those who have contributed to our progress as a nation. Jamaican music has boasted its share of heroes who have helped to advance the culture, and we recognize one of them on “Oldies Sunday“. His name is Prince Far I, and we feature his track, “Jamaican Heroes“.

The self-produced “Jamaican Heroes” was released through Trojan Records in 1980, and it found Prince Far I saluting the Jamaicans who we now know as national heroes. The 6 heroes and 1 heroine started revolutions, fought to hold high positions that would make Jamaica becoming Independent a reality, and helped to make the Island a shining jewel in the world. Far I delivered solid words over a solid production, and had the assistance of backup Vocalists throughout. “Jamaican Heroes” was featured on the 1980 album of the same name, and was one of his well-recognized tunes.

Since the release of “Jamaican Heroes”, Prince Far I would go on to release and produce more music, and perform in various parts of the world. Sadly on September 15, 1983, he would tragically lose his life in the aftermath of a robbery in his home. “The Voice Of Thunder“, as he was sometimes called, would be an influence to many Reggae Artists over the years. “Jamaican Heroes” is still played in parts of the world today.

Salute Our Heroes! Thank You Prince Far I For This Great Song!

Elephant Man Doubles Up With New Singles

Dancehall Artist Elephant Man is ready to make a lot more noise for the rest of 2024. Having enjoyed a summer where he connected with new and old fans through energetic live performances, he’s not letting the flame die down, and he’s going the extra mile. Not only is he putting in the work in the Studio, but for his latest release, he doubles up with the new singles, “Dem Nuh Like We“, and “Walk Out Gyal“.

Produced and released through Energy God Productions, “Dem Nuh Like We” and “Walk Out Gyal” finds Elephant Man giving the people even more to enjoy from him. On “Dem Nuh Like We”, he addresses the haters who make it their job to try to overthrow his place as a Dancehall great, and blur his focus. Borrowing some elements from the 1962 Otis Redding classic “These Arms Of Mine“, Ele gets melodic on bad mind people, and emphasizing that they can never break his stride, and every move makes him stronger. “Walk Out Gyal” is aimed at the ladies who value family and friends, and do things that will elevate their way of living, and live a conscience-free life. If you know your name can’t be mentioned in negativity, walk out with your good self to this one.

Elephant Man is in and out the Island thanks to a series of live performances in North America, and he promises to keep the music factory running with more music in the coming weeks. He is still enjoying Social Media and streaming love off of the singles “Work Out“, “Bad Gyal“, and “Dancing School“, and urges the public to keep the music in rotation, and request their favourite DJs to play them at events.

Elephant Man’s “Dem Nuh Like We” and “Walk Out Gyal” are out now on all digital music streaming platforms.
