On Saturday April 12, the Red Bones Blues Cafe was treated to some great poetry and music from some very talented people. Exodus Poetry Jamaica in association with 13thStreetPromotions staged the first of many in their “Open Mic” series dubbed “A Night Of Elevation“. Featuring the talents of Harold Davis, Ashley Davis, Kimberly Walsh and many more who stepped to the stage, this is another event that highlights the natural talent found on this great Island. With special thanks to Daniel Case Photography we get to see highlights of this great night. Check out the pics below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Tonight on Onstage, Lady Saw shared a few words with Winford Williams. Here she spoke about her “Infidelity” single with Bugle and their experiences (See video below), her performance at Sting 2013 and reasons for regretting it, working with rapper Flo-Rida, stepping away from the music scene for a short while which included going to church overseas, being a victim of internet hackers (Twitter and Facebook), new projects including music with Markus Myrie, and family life. It’s unfortunate that Lady Saw was hacked but I’ll be looking forward to her new material. John John is here to stay. Check out the videos below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Another day, another new Vybz Kartel song is placed on the internet. He along with new So Unique Records artist Keshan, are dealing with relationship woes in “Don’t Lie“. Produced by So Unique Records, we hear Keshan professing her love and loyalty while Vybz is not hearing it and telling her that she can go if she’s no longer feeling the union. What do you think of this and the rate new songs are coming out from a currently incarcerated artist? Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Reggae is for the people worldwide and today’s video is no exception. Lucas DiPasquale is a singer who covers popular songs on his Youtube channel and in his latest video he covers Dancehall’s own Popcaan. With the help of a microphone and guitar, Lucas gives us acoustic versions of Popcaan’s hits. Very great effort here as he caught the lyrics that were done in Patois (Jamaican creole) very well. Big ups to Lucas and I hope the right people are hearing him. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
They can lock up the deejay, but him music remains free. Going under the moniker, “Addi Innocent“, Vybz Kartel drops “My Love My Love“. Produced by Bigga Dondon Records, the World Boss goes into R&B mode and sings about looking for love and not wanting to be alone. Every thug needs a lady, and given his current situation that’s not a bad thing. What do you think of the new song? Check it out below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
