Dancehall/Hip Hop Artist Tina (fka Hood Celebrityy) has been busy with the music, and she hasn’t shown signs of slowing down. Whether she’s rapping, singing, or deejaying, she’s not playing around, and her numbers are going up. Keeping the momentum going, she goes old school on her new release, “Lover Man“.

Hopping on the classic “Action Riddim“, Tina shares her love for the Man who knows how to handle business in “Lover Man”. She shares the qualities that have her attention, and she has no problem giving him her all. She emphasizes her point with a Music Video that finds her dancing it up on a Yacht, riding on the Bike back, and strolling through the streets in her Corvette. For those unfamiliar, the “Action Riddim” was produced by Dave Kelly, and released in 1993 through his Madhouse label. With many stories out there about his greatness, the Deejay continues to keep the Studios busy, and the streets flooded with music. For the high times, for the low times, he has music for almost every topic out there. Recently, he released the track, “Yea Yea“.

Produced by Brafazz Entertainment, Shane O walks with faith on, “Yea Yea”. He shares some of his observations about fake friends, people who will through all means to bring him down, and corruption, but shares that he’d rather keep to himself, and stay protected from whatever force out there that wants to harm him. The Deejay continues to release music with relatable lyrics, and lets listeners in on his mindset as a Songwriter, and an Individual who has dealt with a lot over the years. Yaksta is back at it again with new music. The Deejay has been on a roll all year, displaying great consistency, and keeping his fanbase occupied. Like a loaded gun, he’s ready to fire, and he brings the energy and more in, “Response“.

Produced by Frankie Music/Bush Music/MaffiaLee Production, Yaksta takes the music to new vibes in, “Response”. Yaksta doesn’t play in real life and on the track, he has brooms lined up, and is ready to hit those who approach him the wrong way with something serious. The track is accompanied by a Music Video filmed by KhingCam/JV Cinematic/Quan Motionz, and we see Yaksta taking his place as a ruler with a few brooms within his reach. The broom takes on many forms throughout the visual, and it doesn’t take long for the viewer to see what they really take the place of. Yaksta continues to hit the people with new music, and creativity in the visuals. It’s “Bush” time.

It wouldn’t have been Summer if Dancehall Artist Roze Don didn’t make a contribution. The Deejay has managed to stay consistent with the music, and fans anticipate every release. This time around, he’s getting the ladies ready to bubble in, “Bam Bam“.

Produced by Bugzy2Flashy for 2 Flashy Records/Dark Disciple Records, Roze Don wants all the ladies to get on bad in, “Bam Bam”. The track taps into a familiar sound, which is the classic “Bam Bam” by the legendary “Riddim Twins” Sly & Robbie. “Bam Bam” gave us hits like “Murder She Wrote” by Chaka Demus & Pliers, “Dem A Bleach” by Nardo Ranks, and was sampled by many over the years (Check out our “Sampling Sly & Robbie” Playlist). Roze Don does the Riddim justice by providing a song that will have the ladies dropping the shyness, and showing off how that booty bounces on the dance floor. On July 2, the Jamaican music scene received news of the passing of Dancehall Artist, Starr Dane. The Deejay was on the rise showing great promise with his releases over the years, but his life was tragically taken in Los Angeles, California. A member of the Dale Virgo-founded DZL Records, he shared his skillset with many Artists, and always promoted positivity in his conversations. In order to preserve his memory, it is encouraged for listeners to get familiar with his previously-released work, and now his latest single, “Wha Gwaan“.

Produced by Dale Virgo, “Wha Gwaan” is Starr Dane’s final recorded track. The track delves into some Social Commentary as Dane questions the Island’s rising crime rate, the corruption, the deception by those in power, and the imbalance in the way of life for the citizens. Dane asks the right questions here, and the track looks to inspire others to ask the same questions, with more action into getting the answers and fixing things. The late Deejay’s final entry should not go by the wayside, and should encourage positive change for not only Jamaica, but for the rest of the world where the issues also reside. Dancehall Artist Shawn Storm is enjoying freedom, and is back to the music like he never left. Shortly after his release from Prison, he released the track, “No Blood” which has been receiving positive feedback ever since, and has been hailed as an example of loyalty. Speaking of “Loyalty“, he emphasizes that in his new Visualizer.

Produced by Kwashawna Records on the “Super Hero Riddim” and originally released in 2019, Shawn Storm emphasizes his stance on “Loyalty”. As mentioned by Vybz Kartel, Shawn has been by his side through the various trials over the past decade and change, and has not betrayed him. In a world where it doesn’t take much for people to be disloyal in relationships, friendships, and partnerships, more should be like Shawn Storm. The R4Robin-directed Visualizer finds Shawn standing firm in his statements throughout, and gives more life the previously-released single. Here’s to the Deejay being more consistent with the Music, and get back on track with his life outside of the Studio.
