Snow, remember him? He was the Canadian Deejay/Rapper who had a few hits in the early 90’s especially the singles “Informer” and “Anything” with Nadine Sutherland, Beenie Man, Terror Fabulous, Louie Culture, Kulture Knox, and Buju Banton. He recently joined DJ Bones, Kshema Francis, Digital Chris and Profi on the “Entertainment Buzz“. The “Gyallis” life is not for the difficult learner, take it from I Octane as he speaks on how easy it is to get the woman you want in his latest video. Titled “Gyal Ting” and directed by Bling Blang Productions, the “Hot Ras” speaks on his experiences as a “Gyallis” and ensures that no male can approach him in any unusual way while being surrounded by a room full of beautiful ladies. A very clean video and fits the single that has been burning the airwaves since it’s debut last year. Look out for more I Octane as he drops more singles and videos this year. If you’re a listener of Jamaican Hip Hop, you might be familiar with the Rapper/Producer and now Entrepreneur Julian Morrison a.k.a. “King Biggs“. Affiliated with the Sons of Liberty collective and Equiknoxx Music, Biggs has made room along with his song writing and production for Innovo Entertainment. I’ve had the chance to chat with him recently about this new venture, his aims for it and future endeavors.
13thStreet: King Biggs, you’re known in the Jamaican Hip Hop circles as a Rapper, Producer and a part of the Sons Of Liberty collective, now you’re dabbling in a new venture. What is Innovo Entertainment?
KB: Innovo Entertainment is a brand that produces interactive entertainment experiences for adventurous and tasteful young Jamaicans. It will produce parties but that won’t be the flagship. New entertainment options such as fitness challenges, entrepreneur expos and events celebrating international culture will give people something else to do other than party. The ethos of Innovo Entertainment is the celebration of the effects of Globalization on 80s and 90s babies in Jamaica. Most of the events involve activities so patrons don’t come and stand still, they’re a part of something unfolding before their eyes.
13thStreet: What made you decide to start this venture? When was the idea brought into existence?

Fresh off his Grammy wins is the lyrical don, Kendrick Lamar with something for the Black-conscious folks. Titled “The Blacker The Berry” and features Jamaica’s own Agent Sasco, they both tackle social issue of Racism in a very aggressive and thought-provoking way over the combo production from Boi-1da and Terrance Martin. A great fit for Black History Month, and the rest of the year. Kendrick’s untitled album is on the way. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
