On March 8, 2014, Kingston’s Club Indulge paid homage to the late great Notorious B.I.G. and celebrated the elevation of Jamaican Hip Hop. Hosted by The Sickest Drama, patrons were treated to big performances by Reazonz, Shanique Marie, Monopoly King, Tristan of Sons Of Liberty and a few special guests. Yesterday on Hot 97, Mr. Vegas made a guest appearance. Not a stranger to the radio station, he spoke to Cipha Sounds and Old Man Ebro about his origins including his stage names, his well publicized relationship woe and not seeing his daughter, his thoughts on Vybz Kartel’s trial and the guilty verdict, Buju Banton being in jail, trying to avoid getting in trouble, showing respect to Bounty Killa, his recording process, and highlighting that Jamaica has a lot of talent. Not a bad interview here, what I commend him for is despite having a feud with Bounty Killa, he shows him respect here and not throw him under a bus. Can you relate to this? Dropping some new comedy is the one & only Toni Blair. Titled “Ghetto Phone Conversations” she goes into “ghetto mode” and expresses how some “ghetto” conversations are done. She goes from having chit chat with a friend, asking for money, partying on the weekend and marching for Vybz Kartel. Toni never disappoints with her skits and you’ll have a good laugh. Dropping off a new video today is the combined effort of Dreggae and German songstress EbRu Musiq. Titled “SoundBoy” and directed by Royal Bridges, we hear the artists dropping Soca tinged music while having fun on the set, drinking, and dancing to the Nigel Nicholas and Patrice Regis production. Jamaican Rum made a cameo appearance in this one as well. She doesn’t dance unless she closes her eyes. What do you think? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Still not over raving all weekend? No worries because Shane Talon has a mix to ensure you can continue throughout the rest of the month. Titled “Soca Mix 2K14“, this is over a hour of some of the baddest Soca music to keep you “wukking” whenever and wherever. Whether you’re in Jamaica, Trinidad, USA, or even the UK, this is the mix for you from Shane Talon. Check out the mix below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Nuh Behavia king, KipRich, and the dancehall rebel, Danielle D.I., recently released the upbeat and daring single, “Hear The Pree”.
The song is one of the hottest tracks on the Clean Money rhythm distributed by Johnny Wonder 21st Hapilos.
The single has two versions, one for the airwaves and another for the street. “Hear The Pree” is steadily gaining momentum in both spheres.
“The feedback has been real good so far. Everywhere I go, when it plays, the girls go crazy. The vibe in and outside of the dance has been terrific! The radio DJs are also picking it up, so it’s a great feeling,” Danielle said.
“It’s a new year and all I can say is expect the unexpected. My female fans have been asking for more, and I know this combination delivered. Trust and believe lots more to come from KipRich this 2014,” added Kiprich.
Kiprich and Danielle DI are both preparing to shoot the visuals for Hear The Pree. Their production team is currently scouting locations in Portland for a steamy music video.
