Recording Artist D’yani is one of Jamaica’s leading Vocalists that many need to recognize. For well over a decade he has showcased his talents, and has elevated himself to be on the level where he’s in heavy demand. Whether he’s singing about his daily observations or delivering tunes for the ladies, he is a star. It took a lot of work, and his “Journey” continues.

He shares that while we may have missteps in life, we have to keep going, and our time to shine is close. With a music video directed by Samo, D’yani runs through communities sharing his message before concluding in a ball field where he joins a choir. The Singer continues to deliver powerful music, and he is showing up in more places this summer. If you’re in one of his announced tour stops, be sure to catch him live. Take care, and keep going.

Vybz Kartel Makes It About “God & Time” With 19th Album

Not many Artists can reach the level of “legend” in Jamaican music, but Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel is one of those Artists who did. From achieving a cult-like following, to adding hits to his name for a couple decades, to becoming a name outside of music, not even Prison could hold him back. Now nearly two years since being free, he’s enjoying life, his family, his fans, and more success that has come his way. It wasn’t an easy journey, and like his new album, he left it to “God & Time“.

Featuring 14 tracks, Vybz Kartel is on another level with the release of his 19th album, “God & Time”. Kartel is still in top form here, showing an appreciation for where he is now, and what more he can achieve. His motivational tracks are present, but his signature girl tunes, and the music that highlights his status and rewarding lifestyle are included as well. TJ Records handles the production with a number of Composers, which include Zack Fostaty, Raphael Vivet, and Redboom Supamix. As for the features, Spice and Skillibeng show up, Vybz goes International with WizKid and Farruko, and he reunites with Shenseea and Mavado. Vybz Kartel is in a good space nowadays, and while he’s being a character thanks to his viral TikTok and Instagram content, it took God and time to get him here. Another level unlocked.

Skippa Presses The “Fast Button” On New Single

Dancehall Artist Skippa continues to elevate his career. While there may be detractors and conflicts, he’s still getting to the money, and keeping the Studios busy. He recently concluded his UK Tour, and he’s staying up to date with the music releases. Earlier, he released, “Fast Button“.

Produced by Chargie Records/Caado Beatz/Rich Together, Skippa keeps the focus on the riches in, “Fast Button”. Whether getting through stage shows or off the phone, the Deejay has Rolexes to wear, Sports Cars to drive off the lot, and more things to acquire. It takes a lot to be a part of the fast life, and to maintain it as well, and while people will talk, Skippa blocks them out with the sound of the money machine. If you caught the Deejay in the UK, we hope you enjoyed his appearances.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Chevelle Franklyn – Here I Am (1989)

The month of May being “Child Month” is coming to a close. Today on “Oldies Sunday“, we highlight a time when young folks take on arguments they have no business being in. It comes in the form of a song in this case. Today, we go back into time to check out a young Chevelle Franklyn, and her track “Here I Am“.

Produced by Rohan Harrison and Arnold Edwards and released through the Rhage Records in 1989, we find a Teenage Chevelle Franklyn (then known as Chevelle) taking on the role of a Woman who is in love with a married Man in, “Here I Am”. Released at age 16, the song showcased a young star in the making with a powerful voice, and who had promise of a successful music career. “Here I Am” was beyond Chevelle’s years in subject matter, but it catapulted her into stardom quickly. The song topped the JBC Radio One Top 30 charts, the RJR Top 40 music charts, and put the Singer on a winning streak as she scooped up a number of awards, made her a household name, and opened doors which included collaborations with Shabba Ranks, Spragga Benz, Beenie Man, and later scoring an International Record Deal with Island Jamaica.

Since the release of “Here I Am”, Chevelle Franklyn made strides in music. In the late 1990s, she stepped away to focus on her faith. She would return to the scene shortly after as a Gospel Singer, enjoying success in that lane. Despite the changes in her life, many still remember that little girl who made her debut on the scene signing about big people tings. “Here I Am” continues to be well-loved by many.

THANK YOU CHEVELLE FRANKLYN FOR THIS HIT!
