Elephant Man Commands Respect In “Yah Smaddy”

Your reputation is everything, especially in Jamaica. If you come around with false stories and trickery, you will be dealt with. Dancehall Artist Elephant Man comes from a place where if you’re not an honourable person, it’s not going to be an easy life for you. From the east to the west, he shares “Yah Smaddy” for the real ones.

Done in collaboration with Damage Musiq, Elephant Man shows respect to those who set the standard, and calls out the fakes in “Yah Smaddy”. Inspired by the “Yah Smaddy” slang from Montego Bay, St. James, Ele does a roll call for all the communities in and out of Jamaica where some of the realest set of people reside, and warns the fakes of what can happen if they’re not careful. Ele brings the energy in a Music Video directed by KingSimeonDiGreat, and he’s accompanied by Dancers who helped to channel the energy throughout. Elephant Man is in his 30th year, and is still putting in the work like an upcoming Artist. For those who miss him live, stay tuned to his platforms for updates. Say yes nuh man.

Freedom sweet, ain’t it? Vybz Kartel has been enjoying it like never before. Currently in the England, the Deejay has been on a comeback journey since July 31, 2024, and he’s just getting started. A welcome back Concert, new singles, reconnecting with many, and enjoying life and love, he is grateful. Speaking of reconnecting, he did just that recently with the legendary Busta Rhymes, and earlier they released the new collaboration called, “Crazy“.

Produced by Hitmaker and featuring the legendary Akon, Busta Rhymes and Vybz Kartel solidify their friendship even more, and gave us another collaboration in, “Crazy”. Busta gives us some of his signature bars while Akon shows why he is in the league of greats, and Vybz shares his new and positive outlook on life, with the declaration that “God is the greatest”. The last time Busta and Vybz collaborated was on “The Don & The Boss” from 2021, so them being in the same space together for this new track was nothing short of a blessing. Remember when Vybz remixed Akon’s hit single “Locked Up“? Good times. Here’s to more collaborations.

Dancehall Artist Valiant may have been trending recently thanks to his choice of footwear on Social Media, but he’ll always maintain a presence with the music. The past few months has seen him secure more hits and gain more attention Internationally, and he’s working for even more. Best believe his focus is on a “Whole Lotta” things.

Directed by Don Prod, Valiant is taking his career and life to new levels in “Whole Lotta”. Surrounded by his peers, we’re looking at a Deejay who has remained consistent, and is enjoying the fruits of his labour with an eagerness to gain even more. “Whole Lotta” is the first single off of Valiant’s upcoming debut album, and we look forward to future developments. The “African Giant” has been a topic of discussion over the past few months in regards to his love life among other things, but he’s doing what he does best, and that is deliver the music. Burna Boy has amassed success that is beyond measure for some, but he has worked his way up for it. With a new album on the way, he has been releasing a number of singles since last year. This time around, he’s giving us an “Update“.

Directed by UAX Studio, Burna Boy shares his continued rise, and his focus on receiving good energy daily in “Update”. The video features a mix of him enjoying a life of luxury, while other scenes promote strength (as shown in the “Tug of War” scene), unity, and gaining success. The video also pays homage to the “Soul Train” era of the 1970s. “Update” was produced by P2J, and is the second single off of Burna’s upcoming album, “No Sign Of Weakness“. The track also sampled Soul II Soul’s 1989 hit single, “Back To Life (However Do You Want Me)“. It’s Burna Boy’s season, and you can look forward to even more from him later this year.

Circa Eleven Starts The Party Early With 3 New Releases

Production Duo Circa Eleven has been putting in the work over the years, and they’re not slowing down on the output. Last year they secured a number of collaborations, and even released a Christmas EP. This time around, they’re throwing parties, and they want to start early with 3 new releases from JayYGT, Gio Mar, Brush 1, and 1CDon.

 Circa Eleven released “Mamacita” with 1CDon, “Give It To Me” with JayYGT and Gio Mar, and “Waistline” with Brush 1 and Gio Mar, and listeners have been tuning in. Circa tapped into 3 genres this time around, Dancehall, Soca, and Dembow. On “Give It To Me”, JayYGT and Gio Mar deliver something spicy for the ladies, Brush 1 and Gio Mar aim to get the ladies dancing in the Fete on the energetic “Waistline”, and 1CDon goes bilingual with the lyrics for the ladies in “Mamacita”. In the end, Circa Eleven threw a party that was made for everybody. They continue to showcase their diversity, and we can expect even more stand out collaborations later this year. The Valentine’s Weekend may be over, but the love is still happening. Some may have focused on just that one day, but what about the rest of the year? Enter JungleGod with something new to keep things bubbling. Tune in to his latest project, “From Jungle With Love“.

Released on Valentine’s Day, JungleGod provided 14 tracks for the lovers with “From Jungle With Love”. Sometimes putting the message in a song is the easiest way to do it, and Jungle gives listeners a number of way to express their love over production that taps into R&B, Dancehall, Pop, Reggae, and Hip Hop sounds. Jungle deals with love in various forms on this project, and he invited the likes of Robert “Dubwise” Browne, Jaivanni, David TV Barnes, and his RSNY brethren to make their contributions to the project.
