With some drum and bass to keep you energized, Burro Banton comes through with his commanding sound and lyrics to encourage to delete all this is not good for you. If you feel like calling friends together and rave, let this song help you to get it all started, just be careful with the public property. The video, brings us back to the 90’s Dancehall fashion and culture that many long to recreate along with various graphics. .@ComplexRICKI Doubles Up With Visuals For “Bless You” & “Pesos”!

Ricki is a very unique Artist, and that’s the reason why she was added to our list of Female Artists to watch this year. If she isn’t around a few canvases, or perfecting her “drip“, she’s penning some crazy lyrics to fit the sounds that approach her. Recently, as a part of her roll out, she delivered a double dose of music videos namely “Bless You” and “Pesos“.

On “Bless You“, we find Ricki presenting herself as a walking canvas as she dons various outfits, and gets very colourful throughout. With Troy Baker’s production handling her lyrics, you will very blessed upon consuming this presentation.

On “Pesos“, Ricki delves into some Trap Dancehall vibes as she switches up the flows (and languages) over some hard hitting Troy Baker sounds. The video, which was directed by Dennis Brown Media House, finds Ricki counting up the moula and delivering some “bad gyal” vibes, while we get a bit of dancing thanks to Tara Tehrebel and Tashine Hinds of Versatile Ones. Give Ricki the lane, and she’ll be sure to take advantage of it.

Off her collaborative “Red Candle Lit Tape” with Troy Baker, check out the videos below, and share with a friend. Show us some love on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

.@SheenWorks Gets Real In His Debut Video For “Lot To Lose”!

Today’s new entry comes from Singer/Songwriter/Producer Sheen (formerly known as Ashani), and you will feel the emotions in this one. Recently, he made his video debut with the single, “Lot To Lose“. Brought to you by the combined efforts of Stephanie Channer, Live High Meds, and Andre Livingston, Sheen is seen here belting out the Blues as he deals with some difficulties in a relationship. Co-written by Roe Summerz and produced by Irish Hill Records, this one is definitely a repeater as many of us can relate to the scenarios sung here. We love the direction of the video here as it fits the dark tone of the lyrics, simple and effective (and black and white (the proper term, right?)). Expect to hear more from this Artist as he has made waves over the years. Check out the video below and share with a friend. Show us some love on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Chalice – Sayonara (1986)

Today’s Oldies Sunday was one that should’ve been posted a long time ago, but a recent event inspired its publishing. Remember when Dancehall Artist Shenseea released the visual for her “ShenYeng Anthem“? While many enjoyed the single, there were mixed reviews for the music video because of its intro. With today’s entry, I feel there would be some “outrage” from some folks if this was released today (some folks argue about every little thing online). Today’s entry comes from Chalice (though they were featured before, this song features mostly one of their Vocalists) with their single, “Sayonara“. Written by the legendary Lloyd Lovindeer, this was performed by one of the band’s Vocalists, Wayne Armond. Released through CTS Records in 1986, and Bold Reprive Records in 1987, this track features some Oriental influenced production with Wayne singing about his experiences with a Japanese woman in Jamaica. “Sayonara” (which means “Goodbye” in Japanese) was featured on the band’s “Crossfire” album and was popular in the 80’s and early 90’s. The video for the single was shot in Portland and featured the Boston Jerk Centre. Get familiar with something old by checking out the track below, and share with a friend.
