Super Cat Returns With @SalaamRemi For “Push Time”

Posted on by swadedavillain

The year 2020 came with plenty surprises for better or for worse. One surprise that we can all be happy about is Dancehall icon Super Cat returning to scene to deliver new music! Like a master returning to civilization after intense training, Super Cat links up with legendary Producer Salaam Remi to give us, “Push Time“.

Released through Wild Apache/Louder Than Life Records, Salaam Remi gives Super Cat some proper sounds to assist in the Don Dada’s social commentary lyrics, and his declaration that he’s back to speak to the world! With a video directed by NEWD4Y JOVI and Salaam Remi, Super Cat can be seen in New York with his peers including Tek of the legendary Hip Hop duo Smif-N-Wessun, interacting with beautiful ladies, and pays tribute to the late legendary Jam Master Jay of the legendary Hip Hop group Run DMC. Although he showed up on the scene years ago, it’s great to we get to start the new decade with his latest musical contribution. We look forward to more including the album that “Push Time” will be featured on called, “Black On Purpose“.

In a world where a pandemic is forcing divisions, 5 artists made a move promoting unity. Repping St. James, St. Mary, Spanish Town, and Portmore, Runkus called up Kabaka Pyramid, Munga Honorable, Royal Blu, and Jesse Royal for “5Gs“! With a Mykal “Kush” Cushnie directed video, the quintet not only showed that they could join forces at this time, but display their prowess in the lyrical arts as they share social commentary on the happenings in the world today. This collaboration can only be described as one that’s “Badder than Covid 19“!

With each artist being dominant in their respective fields, this is just one of the few collaborations that we expect to see in the coming months. Covid 19 may have slowed things down, but nothing can overpower the strength and reach of the music. Spray Lysol on their lies, wash your hands so you don’t catch the corruption bug, hold the faith, and remember that “Black Lives Matter“! Check out the video below, and share with a friend.
