As a featured performer on the upcoming “On The Reggae Tip” concert in New York, Dancehall artist QQ made a stop at Hot 97’s Ebro In The AM to discuss a few things. Here he spoke a little on his background, his popularity in Jamaica, his hit songs “Stukie” and “One Drop” and the stories behind them. Short but a good interview here. Ladies it’s time to turn up the vibes. QQ and Major Lazer decided they should take “One Drop” and mix it up with some EDM to make it a bigger hit. With QQ dropping his lyrics and shouting out Major Lazer, the instrumental urges ladies to turn up the levels on their “One Drop” moves. Very energetic track and I believe many ravers would love it. Today’s episode of Onstage also featured Reggae artist Tarrus Riley. Here he spoke about the media not giving much attention to the revival of the One Drop Reggae movement, his dislike for Dancehall and Reggae being shown as rivals rather than being equals in various aspects in the media, his performance and experience at the Authur Guinness Day concert, wanting Reggae and its other forms to get more respect locally, his recent tour, and performing with Snoop Lion on separate stages. Interesting interview that ended on a great note. I do hope lots of changes are made in the future

On tonight’s episode of Onstage, deejay QQ made his way onto the set to have a chat with Winford Williams. Sporting a leather trench coat, he spoke on his absence from the dancehall scene to attend to exams, his current and future projects, not following the crowd and even premiering his “One Drop” music video. Today Reggae Artist I-Octane releases his highly anticipated mixtape, “Voice Of The Streets“. Hosted by DJ Dot Com, the mixtape features past hits and current singles that are split into three categories for his fans, the “Badman” segment, “One Drop” and “Ladies” segment. Octane describes this as a quality product and it’s coming straight from the heart. He invites fans to see the different sides to his personality on this mixtape and promises it will be “Siick!“.
