The self-produced “Ova Do It” finds Shaí Bascombe paying full attention to the lovely ladies out there, but emphasis on one special lady. From the way she wears her hair, her no-filter beauty, her ability to stand out, and possessing the good body has Shaí thanking God that she’s in his life. Dancehall/Pop Artist Shenseea has taken her brand and music to various parts of the world, and the work never stops. Since breaking out in 2016, she has been building her fanbase with hits, and ushered in new movements. Her name soon brought International acclaim, and soon found herself working with many from Tyga, to Masego, to Kanye West. She aims for more with the release of her sophomore album, “Never Gets Late Here“.

Featuring 14 tracks, Shenseea expands her catalogue with “Never Gets Late Here”, and show that her flame has not been outed. While she received mixed reviews for her debut album and criticism for comments made prior to that, she shared that she would return to her Dancehall roots. It’s up to the listener to determine if she’s back in the department with the new project. Production on NGLH include the likes of Rvssian, Di Genius, Gitty Music, Stargate, Supah Mario, Romeich Entertainment, London On Da Track, and Supa Dups, while Masicka, WizKid, Anitta, and Coi Leray show up with contributions to further enhance the listening experience. Neel Dhorajiwala, “1996” is a showcase of Coutain as a student and lover of music, bringing his skillset and artistry to new levels, with Dwala expressing his love for the music through production. The 16 track album taps into various topics that are relatable to the listener, and sounds including Dancehall, Afrobeats, Jazz, Pop Music, R&B, and Hip Hop that Coutain handles with ease. With every beat thrown his way, he delivers a product that becomes infectious to the listener, and he does them all effortlessly, lyrically, and melodically. If you listen carefully, he pays homage to some of the greats in his verses. An entertaining body of work that promises to connect with the world in various ways, expect this one to come up in album of the year discussions.

Earlier this year, South African Recording Artist Tyla released her self-titled debut album. The album featured a number of collaborations including one with Dancehall Artist Skillibeng and ATL Rapper Gunna on a track called, “Jump“, and it has been receiving a lot of love. As the track continues to do well on streaming, Tyla follows it up with the release of the official Music Video.

Directed by Nabil and shot in Jamaica and Johannesburg, South Africa, Tyla gives us plenty to see in her video for, “Jump”. Tyla shares the screen with a number of dancers, Men who seek her affection, fellow South Africans and parts of their culture and everyday life, and Rapper Gunna. Skillibeng was unable to be present so his parts were shot in Jamaica, and features a number of familiar faces. Tyla continues to take her name to new platforms, and many look forward to see what’s next from her. Here’s to more Skillibeng collaborations as well as he has been on fire internationally, and Gunna continues to rise despite a few low points in his life.
