Produced by Brooklyn Decent, Jimmy October aims for the ladies with “Sweet Love”. The nightlife can be filled with lots of things that tantalize the senses, but when you come across a gem who stands out in the crowd, you’ll want to pursue her. Jimmy found himself in that situation, and while it may have been just a regular night for him, all that changed when he stumbled upon that unique lady who secured a permanent place in his mind, and pursuing her became life-changing. Done in collaboration with renowned Producer/Musician/Educator Dwala a.k.a. Neel Dhorajiwala, “1996” is a showcase of Coutain as a student and lover of music, bringing his skillset and artistry to new levels, with Dwala expressing his love for the music through production. The 16 track album taps into various topics that are relatable to the listener, and sounds including Dancehall, Afrobeats, Jazz, Pop Music, R&B, and Hip Hop that Coutain handles with ease. With every beat thrown his way, he delivers a product that becomes infectious to the listener, and he does them all effortlessly, lyrically, and melodically. If you listen carefully, he pays homage to some of the greats in his verses. An entertaining body of work that promises to connect with the world in various ways, expect this one to come up in album of the year discussions.

Earlier this year, South African Recording Artist Tyla released her self-titled debut album. The album featured a number of collaborations including one with Dancehall Artist Skillibeng and ATL Rapper Gunna on a track called, “Jump“, and it has been receiving a lot of love. As the track continues to do well on streaming, Tyla follows it up with the release of the official Music Video.

Directed by Nabil and shot in Jamaica and Johannesburg, South Africa, Tyla gives us plenty to see in her video for, “Jump”. Tyla shares the screen with a number of dancers, Men who seek her affection, fellow South Africans and parts of their culture and everyday life, and Rapper Gunna. Skillibeng was unable to be present so his parts were shot in Jamaica, and features a number of familiar faces. Tyla continues to take her name to new platforms, and many look forward to see what’s next from her. Here’s to more Skillibeng collaborations as well as he has been on fire internationally, and Gunna continues to rise despite a few low points in his life.

Produced by Cherry Beatz, Sarina is looking for “the one” in “What U Didn’t Know“. Over thumping production, Sarina gets melodic as she shares the requirements when it comes to finding a partner. In a time where selfishness and deception are rampant, she seeks to give and receive unconditional love, find someone not so typical, and a connection that is more than physical. “What U Didn’t Know” gives off great energy that is bound to have listeners dancing and singing alone, and may just be an instant favourite for some. It’s Friday, so that means new music, and you’ll be dancing to this one. East German GRAMMY-winning DJ/Producer Tino Schmidt a.k.a. Purple Disco Machine is here with new music, and he brought along a couple friends. Get ready learn, “Honey Boy“.

Produced by C41 and LA/PAC, Purple Disco Machine’s “Honey Boy” features legendary Musician Nile Rodgers (of the legendary Chic band), Dancehall/Pop Artist Shenseea, and main vocals by Benjamin Ingrosso. The track speaks of a young man whose life changed when he crosses paths with a Woman who changes his life for the better. Rodgers assists the production with some great Guitar while Shenseea lends her vocals on the pre-chorus, chorus, and backing vocals throughout the track. The energy this track gives off along with the disco vibes will have listeners dancing with no hesitation, and it showcases Shenseea’s crossover appeal going in the right direction. For all the flack she has gotten for her music releases in the past few years, this is the direction I expected when Shenseea said she wanted to dabble in other genre. Accompanying the track is a Music Video directed by Alice Fassi and it shows the “Honey Boy” character morph into a Golden Boy who is the talk of the town.
