For those who aren’t familiar, Va$htie is an American DJ/Designer/Blogger/Director who is of Trinidadian descent. For those who are familiar with her, you may have seen a few of her videos, worn her Sneakers (She designed a special Air Jordan II and has a line with Puma), or raved to her DJing at a party. Tonight, after a heads up on her Snapchat recently, she released her Island-flavoured “West Indian Summer” Mixtape. Featuring over an hour of Dancehall, Reggae, Salsa, Reggaeton, Bachata, Merengue and Soca, Va$htie pays homage to the sounds that raised her. Featuring selections from Johnny Osbourne, Protoje, Machel Montano, Romeo Santos, Buju Banton, Celia Cruz, Daddy Yankee and many more! @IAmHezron Releases “Taxi Driver”

Reggae Recording Artist Hezron recently released the video for his single, “Taxi Driver” which was produced by Stone Love Production. This single, like many of his previous efforts, is creating waves locally and Internationally. The video was shot by American Director Frank Blenman in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Hezron said, “This video has a local and International flair and I am eager to start promoting”.

Scenes from the video were shot in Jamaica, Switzerland and New York to give the video the International look and appeal required for the concept of the video. Hezron who takes great pride in creating ideal visuals for his music is now anticipating great responses from his fans. He said, “Things are different now; I want to start pushing boundaries and further claim what is rightfully mine in Entertainment”.

Hezron has been on the music scene for a while now. He can be described as a triple threat as he is a Musician, Poet and Songwriter. Known for popular singles such as “So In Love”, “Forever and Always” and “Can’t Come Between Us”, Hezron has managed to remain relevant and consistent in Reggae music. He is often times compared to Reggae veteran Beres Hammond because of his smooth sounds and unique style.

Earlier this year Hezron released another single titled “Mobay”, which was produced by Addis Records Production from Europe. He is now partnering with several local and International Promoters on upcoming events and finishing up his new album which is slated to be released later this year.

@IAmMalakhi Promotes “I Alone”

Revolutionary spirit I Am Malakhi is currently promoting his latest song “I Alone”. The song is a reflective piece that was produced by renowned label, Music Tower Production. The track has garnered a lot of attention on both the local and International market and so far the feedback has been positive. “I Alone” was entered into the “What’s the Verdict Saturday” show on Roots FM and won by popular demand. The song has also been in regular rotation on stations like RJR, Suncity Radio and ZIP FM.

I Am Malakhi is elated about the positive response that he has been receiving so far and had this to say, “Every fibre of my being is about positivity and upliftment and I use my music as the medium to spread my message. I am happy that my music has been reaching the ears of many and I am forever grateful for the great responses that I have been getting. My journey continues and I will be putting out more songs of this nature for my growing fan base.”

The multifaceted recording artiste performed a magnificent set at the JAM Fest Show in Birmingham on August 6 and even though he wasn’t scheduled to close the show, the task fell on him when headliner Luciano was a no show. “I was grateful for the opportunity to close the show. Luciano was advertised as the main act, but I had to step up to the plate when the organizers learnt that he had missed his flight.”

I AM Malakhi performed at the annual Birmingham Sports and Cultural Day on the 28th of this month. “I have few shows to look forward to for the rest of the year. I want to use this avenue to thank everyone who has been supporting my music and especially for cheering me on at my shows. Look out for more to come from I Am Malakhi.”

He also encourages listeners to follow their dreams and never let people be obstacles on their journey. In the video he highlights himself and others as children working on their dreams, the challenges they’ve faced, and now the result of their determination. We’re crossing the seas for this one. Fresh out of the UK comes Recording Artist Lil Opy. This 17 year old has been making a name for himself lately thanks to his debut single, “Hold You Down” and today, we feature both the audio and visual of said tune. Directed by Amir and features popular UK Artist Paigey Cakey and rising Artist Oluwa Shimzie, this is aimed at young couples, those going through “Cuffing Season“, and those who are experiencing Summer love. With a feel good Production provided by Opy, this might be the soundtrack to many dates this year. In recent years we have seen a growth of African Artists as they’ve not only commanded a presence on the Afrobeat scene, but making their mark in Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae, Pop Music, and the various fusions of genres. @MsPhillye Crosses Over Into Dancehall With “Get It” Single!

Recording Artiste Phillye is at it again! This time she has released her new single ‘Get It’ on the ‘Pull Up Riddim’ produced by Head Concussion Records Producer Rvssian. The Dancehall single comes as a surprise to many Phillye fans as she is often known for her sultry Reggae and R&B cross over singles.

Phillye who was given her stage name by the producer Sly Dunbar in Kingston, Jamaica resides in Philadelphia in the United States. She recalls working with several Jamaican Producers but was indeed intrigued when approached by Rvssian to produce a song on the Riddim. She said, “I met him online but I know his Riddims are always very creative so I was elated to get this opportunity and also to try a different genre”.

The ‘Supernatural’ Songstress known for singles such as ‘Jah Jah Light’ and ‘Live Your Life’ is now on the promotional trail and is eager to expand her fan base especially in Jamaica. She said, “I have fans all over the world, they communicate with me well online but I want to really start reaching out to my fans more and giving them the opportunity to hear a more versatile me”.
