If you know what’s up, then you might be the Sidechick, and we have some music for you today! Many recognize today, February 15, as “International Sidechick Day“, and we kick things off with our very own Spotify Playlist! It’s that red and white with hearts day, for other folks it’s Valentine’s Day. Expect your timelines to be flooded with “sweet nothings” from couples, or people realizing how single they are in the status updates. Whether you’re spending the day with special someone, or handling things solo, we have a playlist for your activities. Today we present to you our Spotify Playlist titled, “Dancehall Love“! Featuring over an hour of those Dancehall tunes that will cause stripped clothes, noise complaints, thumps and bumps all over the house, rocking vehicles in parked positions, and steamy spaces. Side effects of taking in this playlist include heavy breathing, sweating, relaxed muscles, fatigue, a full body workout, and heart shaped eyes. Dre Osborne & @RepLangi_Music Dedicate “Like That” To The Ladies!

Happy Monday, today we have new music from Canada based Artist Dre Osborne, and Dancehall Artist Langi a.k.a. Langi Di Future. With a mix of Hip Hop and Dancehall, they release “Like That“. Produced by krs., it’s all about the ladies as they each speak on the effects the ladies have on them when they’re near. She has the moves, has the right words, and when she’s around the vibes never end! “Like That” is marked as Dre Osborne’s first official single, but the Artist has been around for quite a while. He promises that 2018 will find him releasing more music, including a Mixtape. No word yet on a video for “Like That”, but he has high hopes on it making a mark in various places. February 6 marks the day two Reggae legends were born, Bob Marley, and Bunny Rugs. Bob Marley started out in Trench Town, and became a larger than life Icon while Bunny Rugs made his mark as a Solo Artist, and Lead Vocalist for one of Reggae’s most successful Bands, Third World. While many pay respects to them today, we’d like to look back at a few songs that further immortalized them through samples. Samples will come from Bob Marley’s solo singles, or with The Wailers, and from Third World Band during Rugs’ time. Enjoy!

The Wait Is Over For @DiRealShaggy @OfficialSting’s “Don’t Make Me Wait” Video!

Recording Artists Shaggy and Sting are pretty busy these days. From showing up at The Grammys, to Hot 97, to even Super Bowl 52, they’re making their presence felt in 2018. With their joint Album “44/876” on the way, they don’t want you to wait too long for it. Funny enough, they’ve released the visual for the single people were waiting a while for, “Don’t Make Me Wait“. Directed by famed Director Gil Green, and shot in Kingston, the duo can be seen passing through Fleet Street, jamming away in Half Way Tree, drinking and shooting Pool at a Bar, and ending it with an appearance at a Street Dance. While some of the video is a bit cliche, we’re treated to a very colourful visual for a dope song. If “Don’t Make Me Wait” is a hit, we can’t wait to hear the rest of the project come April 20. For now, check out the video below!

Shabba Ranks Sampled Track Featured In Awkward New @DietCoke Commercial

It’s that time again (for those who watch it), for the NFL Super Bowl! In it’s 52nd presentation, fans witness the duel between the New England Patriots, and the Philadelphia Eagles. There are also those who tune in for the moneymaker, the Commercials! One Commercial that popped up was an awkward one by Beverage giant Coca Cola as they presented their latest flavours in their Diet Coke line. Featuring the Mango flavour, ears perked up as a familiar voice was heard in the ad’s music, Dancehall legend Shabba Ranks! The Deejay appears as a sample from Scottish DJ/Producer Sam Gellaitry’s 2015 single, “Long Distance“. The track is featured on the DJ’s debut project, “Escapism” and samples Shabba Ranks’ vocals from his 1988 single “Telephone Love Deh Pon Mi Mind“, a remix to Singer JC Lodge’s hugely popular “Telephone Love“. While the Commercial was not the greatest way to promote a drink, we enjoyed the music. Check out the Commercial below!
