Christmas Day is almost here, and the parties have already started. Christmas is celebrated by all sorts of people from different backgrounds, but what about the Scammers and Choppas? While they use the other days of the year to relish in their spoils from various activities, how do they celebrate Christmas? Well, while we can’t answer that, we made a Playlist just for those who want to pretend to live like a Choppa during Christmas for a while.

There will always be money debates coming from these type of people: The ones who have it, the ones who don’t have it, and the ones who pretend to have it. Social Media gets flooded with Hustlers, “Gurus”, Scammers, and folks with wild imaginations who will tell you their way is the only way to be successful, and get rich. In the music scene, we have Artists and Scammers having competitions to see who has the bigger bankroll, with the public picking their own winner. Today, Recording Artists Chxpz and Gold Gad battle it out on “Choppa Vs Artist“.

With a video directed by 4 Cawna Visual, Chxpz and Gold Gad trade bars about who lives the richer life, a successful Recording Artist, or a Scammer a.k.a. a “Choppa“. One lives to create music, perform it, and collect the benefits from doing so, while the other performs rituals, and uses various unethical methods to ensure their pockets are loaded with money, and they can live the life they want to. One says he can sleep comfortably knowing he got his money in a way with no repercussions, the other strongly believes he’ll never be broke and will always live the best life. It’s a never-ending battle between the Choppas and the Artists, but whatever side you chose, make sure it’s a safe one. Chxpz and Gold Gad have been enjoying success in their respective careers, gaining large followings in the process. The collaboration shows that they go well together, and we look forward to more from them.

Swizzz Gets Into The Choppa Lifestyle On “Weh Mi Duh”!

Whether you like it or not, the “Chop” era of Dancehall is gonna be here for a while. Though made popular by Artists like Xclusiv, Squash, Daddy1, Gold Gad, and a few others, it has brought on controversies, numerous discussions, and a new group of Artists who share commentary on the lifestyle of a Jamaican Scammer. Social Media Comedian turned Recording Artist Swizzz a.k.a. Swizzle Di Optimist steps in with his style on the new track, “Weh Mi Duh“.

Over a Shabria Entertainment production, Swizzz plays the role of a “top choppa” on the track as he gives listeners an inside look at the day to day life of a Scammer. From the days of never attending school, to being involved in scamming activities to make ends meet, to enjoying the spoils of his work, Swizzz is living it up on “Weh Mi Duh”. Accompanying the single is a music video directed by Rave Entertainment that further illustrates his “choppa” lifestyle. Swizzz is a newcomer to the music scene having released singles since 2020, but has been one of Social Media personalities who has utilized platforms like Instagram and TikTok to push content that at times have gone viral. We look forward to what he’ll do next.

In Jamaica, we usually say, “Sometimes we haffi tek serious ting tun joke“, and that’s what EpicFlows Productions did with their latest animated skit called, “Jamaican Scamming Gone Wrong“. Here we check out a conversation between a Mobay Scammer and his new victim. Will he be successful in his task? Or will this end hilariously? All you have to do is press play to find out. 2017 Faves: @JeebyLyricist – Mobaby (#3)

As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.

Taking the 3rd spot today is Jeeby Lyricist with “Mobaby“! Inspired by Recording Artist Jidenna’s “Bambi“, Jeeby teamed up with Producer The Kash (who remade the Instrumental) in May/June to speak on the ills that affect his hometown of Montego Bay, St. James. He even speaks on them through the role of a Scammer. Many come to Jamaica thinking it’s all white sandy beaches, continuous partying, and chill vibes. Just like the rest of the World however, there are issues like crime and violence, corruption, and poverty. A song with a message. If you missed our 4th pick, check it out here. Today, Comedian Kevin2woKrayzee channeled Ian Boyne for an Interview with a Scammer named “Twanga“. While Kevin (named Kevin Dusty Ankles here) delivered the hard hitting questions, things became pretty awkward with him and Twanga throughout the Interview. Scamma dem deh yah!
