Jamaica’s new generation of artists have been brewing something crazy over the past few years. No matter your taste or genre, this talented bunch continues to break barriers and give the world a new sound. Producer Wavy Jones, who has been one of the folks doing his part in ushering in a new wave, has been steadily making his sounds be heard in various parts of the world. Today, he invites you all to experience a dose of “Sine Energy” from his new EP.

Released through In Good Company and comprised of 6 tracks, Wavy Jones creates a space for for some beautiful sounds paired with some individuals who stand out when they express their art. With Leno Banton, Mila.Akilah, Blvk H3ro, Jeeby, Shawn J. Smith, Kione Zaire, Dxcape, and Ramia onboard, this EP is guaranteed to be your favourite this year. After giving listeners a dose with “Ketch Di Pree” earlier this year, expect nuff more niceness when you press play on the whole project. Knowing Wavy Jones, he has a lot more clips in the chamber, so for now, immerse yourself in some “Sine Energy”. The project is available everywhere from Soundcloud (below), to Bandcamp, to all your favourite digital streaming platforms!

Jamaican Producer Wavy Jones stays low key when he gets to work. When he puts the finished products out into the world however, it’s like a parade. Having worked with the likes of Yanah, Biz, Blvk H3ro, JayEdge, and more, he looks to make a lot more noise this year. Today, we get to hear, “Ketch Di Pree“!

Done in collaboration with International label In Good Company, Wavy Jones calls up Blvk H3ro, Jeeby Lyricist, and Kione Zaire for an exhibition of Reggae, Soul, and Hip Hop sounds, and dope lyrics all around. With the quartet forming like the “Goodfellas“, or the “Reservoir Dogs“, or “The Rat Pack“, they join the list of folks who further push the boundaries in Jamaica’s music scene. This marks the 2nd time these 4 creatives linked up as they’ve previously released, “Blessed Indies“.

Accompanying the single, is a music video directed by IIFold Creative Studios (with a lil help from Director 300K) in Downtown Kingston. In the video, we find the quartet tag teaming to give you that fire. Whether in street clothes, or all suited up, the gang’s all here, and we get a great visual with a dope soundtrack. “Ketch Di Pree” is available right now!

2018 Faves: Matt Dewar x @Sara_Bloom_S_ x @JeebyLyricist – Slow Whine

As 2018 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 10 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.

Next up is a track that moved a few hips since its release. The Matt Dewar, Sara Bloom (who made her debut this year), and Jeeby Lyricist collab, “Slow Whine”. 2018 saw Recording Artist Sara Bloom making her debut which was praised by many. With the jazzy debut single “Wanna Know” capturing hearts, her collab with Matt Dewar on “Get Lonely” had folks asking for more. Fresh off the first staging of her “New Breath” event series, she linked up with Matt and Jeeby Lyricist for the groovy “Slow Whine“. With some production by CRT$, the trio deliver a number that will have the ladies feeling themselves on the dance floor and showing off their moves for the world to see. As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.

Taking the 3rd spot today is Jeeby Lyricist with “Mobaby“! Inspired by Recording Artist Jidenna’s “Bambi“, Jeeby teamed up with Producer The Kash (who remade the Instrumental) in May/June to speak on the ills that affect his hometown of Montego Bay, St. James. He even speaks on them through the role of a Scammer. Many come to Jamaica thinking it’s all white sandy beaches, continuous partying, and chill vibes. Just like the rest of the World however, there are issues like crime and violence, corruption, and poverty. A song with a message. If you missed our 4th pick, check it out here. As July comes to a close, we take the time out to appreciate the beauty that is the West Indies. No matter which Island you reside in, there is an abundance of beauty there that makes it unique. Today, Jamaican Artists Jeeby Lyricist, Blvk H3ro and Kione Zaire show their appreciation for their Island on “Blessed Indies“! Produced by Wavy Jones, they all take turns expressing what makes their Island home special, and what you’re in for when you do visit. From St. E to Ochi, Mobay to Bull Bay, you can circle around town with this unofficial Jamaica Tourism campaign! Apply this to your respective Islands as we all are blessed in the West Indies.
