In recognition of the “Fire ManCapleton’s birthday today (April 13 If you’re reading this late), I present to you one of Capleton’s best concerts. Performing at a Justice Sound event in Jacksonville, Florida, Capleton had the crowd eating out of his hands as he burned the fire and delivered an onslaught of hits. Keep the little ones away and loud speakers, lots of profanity here. Since his start in 1989, Capleton has been a household name in Jamaica and the world over promoting consciousness, and upliftment of the people. OLDIES SUNDAY: Pan Head – GunMan Tune (1991)


426561_01_360[In respect to the 17th anniversary of Biggie Smalls’ passing, my Oldies Sunday selection features a song he sampled on his first album.]

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Deejay Pan Head. Titled “Gunman Tune” with production by Lloyd “John John” James Jr. on the “Soap Riddim” and distribution by Father & Son Records in 1991, we hear Pan Head paying tribute to all the gun men in Jamaica while showing disrespect to informants (or snitches). He also speaks on the different communities that the gunmen reside in, the types of weaponry they have in their artillery, how they use them and the type of friends gunmen and informants should have.

After 15 years, Teflon has finally gotten the recognition he deserves and is aiming for more in the music industry. Tonight he joined Winford Williams and discussed a few things. Here he spoke about his recent performance at Rebel Salute, overcoming a few obstacles that tried to hinder his career, making changes to better his career and maturing as an artist, being a good father to his children, collaborating with Capelton, his deal with New Millionaire Entertainment, future projects including experimenting with House Music and more. He also premiered the music video for his single “Same Struggle” with Capelton. Good to see Teflon in a good place and here’s to more success in his career.
