@MsPhillye Crosses Over Into Dancehall With “Get It” Single!

Recording Artiste Phillye is at it again! This time she has released her new single ‘Get It’ on the ‘Pull Up Riddim’ produced by Head Concussion Records Producer Rvssian. The Dancehall single comes as a surprise to many Phillye fans as she is often known for her sultry Reggae and R&B cross over singles.

Phillye who was given her stage name by the producer Sly Dunbar in Kingston, Jamaica resides in Philadelphia in the United States. She recalls working with several Jamaican Producers but was indeed intrigued when approached by Rvssian to produce a song on the Riddim. She said, “I met him online but I know his Riddims are always very creative so I was elated to get this opportunity and also to try a different genre”.

The ‘Supernatural’ Songstress known for singles such as ‘Jah Jah Light’ and ‘Live Your Life’ is now on the promotional trail and is eager to expand her fan base especially in Jamaica. She said, “I have fans all over the world, they communicate with me well online but I want to really start reaching out to my fans more and giving them the opportunity to hear a more versatile me”.

Producer Kris Karz’s “Kngly Live” is back with another one! Recently he teamed up with Florida/St. Louis based Singer Ludy for a mashup video which included a live version of her single “Onlyest“, and a cover of Roberta Flack/Lauryn Hill’s (Whichever Artist you prefer) “Killing Me Softly“. Shot by Daniel “DB” Russo and $andy $cribble$, this performance at done at the Monosonic Studios. With Karz on the keys, Ludy lets the vocals flow on the classic R&B single, and her buzzing single that I’ve managed to catch live at an Open Mic event in Miramar, Florida that was hosted by Jamaican Rapper Tazz (More on that later). Ugandan Recording Artist @MCNormanGanja Releases “Special Request (No Lies)”

Ugandan Reggae/Dancehall Artist MC Norman recently released his brand new single, “Special Request (No Lies)”. Produced by Kron Productions, the Artist questions his role in a relationship and requests that his love interest tells the truth as they’ve had some rough episodes. The multi award winning Artist has been making his rounds in United States and has been receiving some favourable buzz thanks to his single “Ndiyabuza” which has appeared on the soundtracks to popular US Television Shows such as, “What My Husband Doesn’t Know”, “American Gangster”, and “The Game”. MC Norman was also a 7 time nominee in the International Music Awards recently held in the United States, and was nominated for “Best African Dancehall Artist” in the 2016 Afrimma Awards.

About The Artist

Born to Senior Eddy Ganja, a Ugandan music legend, Soloist and Vocalist with the Afrigo Band, MC Norman started off his music career in 1987 at the age of 12 by working with the Afrigo band which included Joanita Kawalya and Peterson Mutebi. Before he left Uganda, he was one of the top local MCs who had stints with the then high end Clubs like Missouri in Maganjo, Pulsations in Kabalagala, and many others. He later joined MM Disco Sound, and worked with Artists such as the late Ivan Matama, DJ Lubba Style, and Rhino Kalemba before joining Jose Chameleon and DJ Bernazor as Dancers and MCs for the Missouri Club every Wednesday and Friday.

MC Norman became a widely acknowledged MC after working with Sam Amooti and Paddy at Jaaja Ansinansi, and later working at Vibration Disco Club alongside Junior Plies Compious, DJ Roberto, DJ Henry and Lota. He later joined his brother and former “Bakayimbira Dramactors” Actor Philip Ganja in South Africa in 1998. Together they started “Ganja Music Productions”, a Music and Film Production company to help develop talented individuals. The two brothers have worked with some of the top South African Kwaito Artists including Arthur Mafokate, the late Zombo, Purity, and Penny Penny, the Shangani Music Star. Their Film Company was responsible for Productions like “Welcome To South Africa” which sold up to 2 Million copies in Uganda, and 5000 copies in South Africa on the day of its release. They also produced “Buladina”, a tribute Film about the life of fallen star, Paul Kafero.

The Music Video for “Mash Up My Head” recently premiered on Jamaican Television Programme Entertainment Report and is now available on YouTube and Vevo. “It is a fun playful song, and we encompassed all of that playful nature in the video, trust me you will enjoy this video.” expressed Sabrina. The feedback from the single has been tremendous thus far and has surpassed the rising Diva’s expectations. So far she has been getting regular airplay on Irie FM, Hitz 92, Suncity, BBC Radio, Irie Jam, 99 JAMZ, and Flames Radio. “I am ecstatic about this single, it has been exceptionally received and I know it only gets better from here.” she said

This is not the first time Sabrina Diva has enjoyed success, her single “War Down Town” was added to Sly & Robbie’s 2012 Grammy nominated album “Throw Back” which brought her a new set of listeners. Although a native of the UK, this bold, sassy singer has made Jamaica her home and has proved time and time again that she is here to stay. Crazy Hype, @OceanaMusic “Brace” For Success!

International Songstress Oceana and Jamaican Dancer and Recording Artist Crazy Hype have recently coupled up to release the hit single ‘Brace’. The video for the single was shot in Los Angeles and produced by Rich Music from The Netherlands and has gained International traction with over 90,000 views on YouTube.

The video features Oceana’s skilled vocals and creative choreography which pulls Influence from both Caribbean and European Dance styles, paying homage to the duo’s heritage. Since the release, the couple has performed on international events and Television Programmes in Los Angeles, Germany, Russia and Poland. They are now back in Jamaica and ready to promote. “We will be hitting the streets and completing our media runs and letting the wider Caribbean feel the energy from this new single” said Crazy Hype.

Oceana was born and raised in Germany; her first album ‘Love Supply’ was certified Gold in three countries. Her hit single ‘Endless Summer’ from her second album, ‘My House’, was the official song for Euro 2012 which went Platinum with over 80 million views on YouTube. Crazy Hype on the other hand was born in St Catherine. He formed his Dance Troupe M.O.B. (Men Of Business) and has since performed all over the world. He has taught Dancehall in several countries in Europe and was the chief judge of the ‘Juste Debout’, the biggest Urban Dance event in the world. This came after Dancehall was added as a category for the first time in 2013. He is also known for his performance at Sean Kingston’s Super 18 Birthday Celebration for an MTV Programme.

“Jamaica is a BIG deal” according to KFC Jamaica and Reggae/Dancehall Artist Christopher Martin. Promoting Jamaican Pride, the Island’s 54th year of Independence, and Jamaica’s participation in Rio 2016, they’ve teamed up for a new campaign. In the video, directed by Tanya E. Taylor while ZJ Bambino handled the lyrics and production of the song, Chris is joined by a crowd of Flag wavers and Dancers as they celebrate Jamaica at a KFC location. In the song, Chris promotes Jamaican pride by mentioning the great things the Island has contributed to the world and stating that “We likkle but we tallawah!“. As a part of their campaign, KFC has a limited run of specially marked food boxes pushing the #FullAhPride hashtag and decorated in Black, Gold & Green.
