KPOn January 25, 2014, Jamaicans were treated to the staging of “Pay Attention“, a Hip Hop concert series held at Club Indulge (South Beach Cafe). Hosted by The Sickest Drama, performances included The Rush, K John, Five Steez and Kabaka Pyramid. I’ve previously posted about the event but today The Gleaner has released a video of the event and interviewed the performers who spoke about the Hip Hop culture, Pay Attention, and how Jamaican Hip Hop is on the rise. NEW MUSIC: @KippoNuBehavior x @DI_Danielle – Hear The Pree

DIKippoIt’s the Rebel and the Nuh Behavior King! D.I. and Kiprich have joined forces to make a very sexual single. Titled “Hear The Pree” and produced by Clean Money Music on the “Clean Money Riddim“, we hear Kiprich and Danielle making plans to spend some time together and get very sensual. Very sexy song by the two but is 2014 the year we hear more collaborations from them? Looking forward to more. She loves unruly guys and he loves bad gals. NEW MUSIC: @IAmCashBilz x @ProdigyMobbDeep – Stranded

Today’s new music is a meeting between two NY boroughs, Brooklyn and Queens. Cash Bilz released his new single “Stranded” and it features Prodigy of the legendary Mobb Deep. Produced by SOUL, the two rappers trade bars about life, getting their minds right and elevating, and being different from these other rappers over a smooth production. Great track here as Cash lands jabs while P throws uppercuts and in the end give you a knockout. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @LadySawDHQueen x @Official_Flo – Heels On (Remix)

FloSawAfter premiering the remix last year, Lady Saw and Flo Rida finally released the video treatment for their collaboration. “Heels On (Remix)” was directed by Evan Winter and shows alot of sensuality between various couples while Saw and Flo tell you how they want to love and be loved. A great effort here as the video has a white, gold and black theme to go along with the sensuality. Will Lady Saw make another banger like “Heels On” this year? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

TECH: @F1rstNation Media Launch In Jamaica

(Brought to you by Shana Reid and Jordie Davis)

It cannot be denied that there is much division amongst the Caribbean nations, many countries are rivals and it is not necessary as we all benefit from each other’s achievements, we all float in the same waters and when one country hurts we all feel it. However, it is unfortunate that while the same waters wash upon all of our shores, we still feel like we are standing alone; sometimes I forget that the Cayman Islands is just 235 miles away from Kingston and a short 45 minute flight (you could get to Cayman and check into a hotel before ONE of my classes are finished).

What is also surprising is many of us who were born and raised in Jamaica don’t even know about half the places in our very own parish, let alone in another Caribbean island. What the F1rst team has done is come up with a new way to bring us all together and keep us all connected while making us more aware of the places that are around us through just one mobile app and a website.

I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t know there was a Chinese Food Restaurant within walking distance of my home until I started exploring f1rstt.com.
