Produced by Brooklyn Decent, Jimmy October aims for the ladies with “Sweet Love”. The nightlife can be filled with lots of things that tantalize the senses, but when you come across a gem who stands out in the crowd, you’ll want to pursue her. Jimmy found himself in that situation, and while it may have been just a regular night for him, all that changed when he stumbled upon that unique lady who secured a permanent place in his mind, and pursuing her became life-changing. She’s hot, she’s sexy, she’s the one, and we know many of us had that kind of experience before. Done in collaboration with renowned Producer/Musician/Educator Dwala a.k.a. Neel Dhorajiwala, “1996” is a showcase of Coutain as a student and lover of music, bringing his skillset and artistry to new levels, with Dwala expressing his love for the music through production. The 16 track album taps into various topics that are relatable to the listener, and sounds including Dancehall, Afrobeats, Jazz, Pop Music, R&B, and Hip Hop that Coutain handles with ease. With every beat thrown his way, he delivers a product that becomes infectious to the listener, and he does them all effortlessly, lyrically, and melodically. If you listen carefully, he pays homage to some of the greats in his verses. An entertaining body of work that promises to connect with the world in various ways, expect this one to come up in album of the year discussions.

Today is for the Mom, Mama, Mommy, Ma, Grandma, Auntie, and Mother. It’s Mother’s Day on “Oldies Sunday“, and we send a shout out to them all. Today’s selection comes from the late Calypsonian, Mighty Conqueror a.k.a. Conky with the track, “Sweet Mother“.

Arranged by Art De Couteau, “Sweet Mother” was released in 1978 through the Jumbo Caribbean Disco label. Conky’s track was a cover of Cameroonian/Nigerian Singer Prince Nico Mbarga’s mega popular track that was released in 1976. The song speaks of a person’s gratitude towards their Mother as she has been there for them in every stage of life. Even when she’s not physically present, a Mother and her love are not forgotten in the heart of her Child. Conky’s version of “Sweet Mother” was a popular track in the Caribbean, and was highlighted yearly in some Islands including his home of Trinidad & Tobago. Celebrate your Mom today, and every day of the year.

The game of Cricket is in the air, and it’s that time for a grand event. Come June 1, the world will be tuning in to the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Tournament. Many will tune in for the wicket-taking, the sixes and fours, the rush from the game, and of course their favourite team winning it all in various locations in the US and Caribbean. Ahead of the tournament, Dancehall Icon Sean Paul and Soca Icon Kes teamed up for the official anthem for the World Cup titled, “Out Of This World“. Earlier, they shared the official Music Video.

“Out Of This World” captures the spirit of Cricket, the people who enjoy it wholeheartedly, and with Sean Paul and Kes on board, the music adds to the excitement. The visual starts off at the Beach where many soak up the sun and play a few games of Cricket, to friends enjoying a moment of unity, and capping it all off with a concert where the Artists take the stage. Highlights of various past matches can be seen throughout, and a few of your favourites make appearances in the video including “The Universe Boss” Cricket legend Chris Gayle, Cricket legend Shivnarine Chaunderpaul, and Usain Bolt with his Jamaica flag in hand ready to wave. “Out Of This World” was produced by Tano, and released through Dutty Rock Productions, and Ineffable Records. 20 teams vie for the trophy in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, get ready. Howzat!

Some Women have that aurora. Some Women have that special thing about them that attracts Men to them like flies to Honey. Those Women stand out in a crowd, and they can be dangerous if not treated well. Trini Artist/Creative Sarkastik Ambassador has met a few of those Women in his lifetime, but this one is different. He shares his adventure in the new Short Film for his new single, “Siren“.

Produced by Dechode Mode, “Siren” is Sarkastik Ambassador’s new single about a Woman who whose pull is stronger than a magnet, and has him wanting to fulfill all her desires. A Woman like that will have him under her spell for life. The track was produced by  The Short Film, which was co-directed by Jerel Ramsey (Sark) and Renaldo Matamoro, continues off from Sark’s “Release Me” visual where he was seen in a Forest, finds him being drawn to a body of water, and be in awe when a beautiful Woman emerges out of it, and pulls him in. What happens next is for you to find out by watching. Sarkastik Ambassador has always looked outside of the box when it comes to his visual content, and “Siren” sets the tone for future video productions that will captivate the audience.
