Minto Taps Into Afrobeats With @KidAlpHaa On Upcoming Single

Jamaican Producer Minto o/c “Minto Play Da Riddim” has been a name that is synonymous with a number of hit singles over the years. Having contributed various new sounds and vibes to the culture, he lends his talents to the Afrobeats scene this year. He steps out with the new single, “Intoxicated”.

“Intoxicated” is Minto’s official entry into Afrobeats, with the hopes of making an impact. Done in collaboration with Nigerian-born/UK-based Recording Artist Kid AlpHa, the single is about finding someone special and having a good time together. A track that will have couples getting lost in each other, promoting a good vibe that will be contagious. Minto provides an infectious sound on the track, and paired with Kid AlpHa’s melodic delivery, make for a track that will be instantly loved by the listener. Minto and AlpHa make for a great combination, and plans are already afoot for future collaborations. “Intoxicated” is expected to become a hit for the collaborative duo, permeating radio throughout the Caribbean, and taking a significant place in African, European, and the American markets over the coming weeks.

Minto has played a significant role in Dancehall/Reggae music for a number of years, and has worked with the likes of Skillibeng, Vybz Kartel, Tatik, Kyodi, Popcaan, Munga Honorable, Charly Black, and Safaree. He looks to make a bigger impact in his production field, with more singles and Riddim compilations in the works. Kid AlpHa started his music career officially in 2020 with the single “Price Tag”, and quickly found success, becoming an Artist to know in Nigeria, the UK, South America, and other parts of the world. He has a number of singles to his name, and possesses a determination to make a bigger name for himself globally.

Listeners can look forward to another side of Minto when he officially releases “Intoxicated” with Kid AlpHa on September 1st on all digital music streaming platforms through ONErpm. Pre-save here.

Love is weird sometimes. You can express love and make efforts in love for the next person, and it’s a 50/50 chance for it to be reciprocated. For Jamaican-born/UK-based R&B Artist Äyanna, she wants her energy matched when it comes to love. She talks about it in the video for her new single, “Say You Love Me“.

Directed by Priya Minhas, Äyanna approaches her love interest to speak his truth. Sometimes it’s good to give without expecting, but in her case, if he has feelings for her, he needs to say it out loud. She wants him to meet her halfway, and don’t hold back with loving her, needing her, and trusting her. The video is presented beautifully between Äyanna performing on stage, joining dancers in a few scenes, and conversing with her lover at a table. The video is also a part of a series that includes previously released “Girlfriend“. Äyanna is signed to the LVRN label, and has worked with the likes of DJ Snake, Spinall, and Summer Walker.

The Independently-released “Outside” single is Princess Ade’s third official single. It’s all about having a good time with great people, and putting the fun over the stress. With Ade’s vocals over smooth production, listeners will be breaking out the dance moves, and keeping the music spinning over and over. Princess Ade made her official debut in 2022 with the single “Moving On“, and kicked off her 2023 with “Local” which was well received. One thing about Reggae Music, it’s global. Thanks to the many contributors, it has maintained a presence that inspires, educates, and entertains. Skarra Mucci, a Jamaican based in the UK, continues to be an ambassador for the music, and he continues to spread the good message in “Roots Rock Reggae“.

Done in collaboration with French (by way of Martinique) Artist Yaniss Odua, Skarra Mucci celebrates the music in “Roots Rock Reggae”. With a video directed by Jérémy Mazza, the Artists take over the streets of Marseille, France to perform their song, and bring the people together. Skarra and Yaniss are longtime friends and collaborators, and they bring their “Real Raggamuffin” style to various parts of the globe. The bilingual track was produced by X-Ray Production. Celebrate something good, and celebrate it with Roots Rock Reggae!

It’s a new day, and a blessing for everyone to experience. While many things can happen to make the day less than positive, we still have to face it all with a smile. UK-based Dancehall/Reggae Artist S Pri (formerly known as Jami Dread) steps out with a new single to uplift called, “No Bad Vibes“.

Produced by Alystr Nash, S Pri delivers some positivity on “No Bad Vibes”. He encourages us all to recognize our blessings, and make the most of the life you’re given. Some days can be tough and your morale may not be where it should be, but we can’t let bad vibes own our lives. S Pri is just doing his part to make the world a better place. It’s been a while since we’ve featured S Pri, but he has been staying active over the years. The Austrian-born Artist was known for a number of years as Jami Dread, and released a number of singles in Jamaica and parts of the Caribbean, collaborated with a few Artists, and took the stage at a number of events. It’s been a while, but Sundays are for “Oldies Sunday“! Summer is officially here, and that means lots of outside activities for many. One key addition is music, and we have an Oldies Sunday selection for you to check out. Tune in to UK-based duo Asher D & Daddy Freddy’s “Summertime“.

Produced by Simon Harris and released through Music Of Life in 1988, Asher D (not to be confused with UK Rapper & “Top Boy” Actor Asher D) & Daddy Freddy gave us a Jamaican style cover of the classic single, “In The Summertime“. “In The Summertime” was originally recorded by British Rock Band Mungo Jerry in 1970, and was huge hit. “Summertime” not only borrowed elements from the original track, but focused on the beautiful ladies from Jamaica, New York, London, Germany, and Italy who would catch the attention of the duo. The song celebrates the summer holidays, beautiful Women, and paid homage to a classic song.

Asher D & Daddy Freddy were the originators of the “Raggamuffin Hip Hop” subgenre, a fusion of Ragga and Hip Hop, and found success with “Summertime” and previously released music. Since the release of “Summertime”, the duo were temporarily split up due to Asher D’s imprisonment in the late 1980s, but reunited in early 1991 before splitting up again indefinitely. Daddy Freddy (who became the World’s Fastest Rapper in 1989 and was inducted in the Guinness Book Of World Records) is still active as a solo Artist, but Asher D has been absent since the 90s. Fans of “Summertime” still play it to this day, reminiscing on the summer holidays in their younger years.
