.@RyginKingO Covers The Classic “Stop That Train” With The Late U-Roy!

In February 2021, the world lost a Music legend, and a Jamaican Icon named Ewart “U-Roy” Beckford. A man who has greatly contributed to the ever changing musical landscape, you can call him the Originator of how you put the lyrics together. While the world misses him, there were talks about putting together a final album for the great U-Roy. It was revealed with the title, “Solid Gold U-Roy“, and one of the singles that made the album features one of Dancehall’s hottest acts, Rygin King on a cover of the classic single, “Stop That Train“.

Produced by Sharna Liguz, Youth, and Zak Starkey, we see two Artists from two great generations join forces to give us something different. The single covers the 1967 version of the Keith & Tex Rocksteady version of “Stop That Train”. The 1967 version is cover/remake of The Spanishtonians’ 1965 Ska original that speaks of a woman whose boyfriend is leaving her via train, and she wants to join him on board. U-Roy also released a cover version in 2009/10. Both Keith & Tex and U-Roy & Rygin’s versions speak from a man’s perspective however. While many are familiar with Rygin King’s style of music, they’d be surprised to know what he enjoys in his downtime, and seeing this collaboration is just a fraction of what can happen. With the late U-Roy’s signature toasting/deejaying, this an “OG meets the Young General” moment, and we know the posthumous U-Roy album has a lot more gems. This could pave the way for a lot more collaborations like this, and we’re here for it! Call us up so we can be a part of it. Done in collaboration with fellow Artist Kheemo and Producer DJ Densen, Kapital Stone speaks about believing in one’s self, working towards your goals, and celebrating your wins regardless of the detractors and naysayers. Kapital and Kheemo share great chemistry on the track, and DJ Densen provides a heavy production that is sure to wake everyone up. Kapital Stone is gearing up to liberate a few more singles this year, and make his presence be felt in more places. Keep on winning.

450 Makes An Impact With “Imperfections” Single

Rising Recording Artist 450 is steadily making his way up to becoming a prominent fixture in Jamaica’s music scene. In a short space of time, he has managed to release singles that have quickly gained popularity, and praise from some of the big names in music. With hard hitting lyrics and great charisma and energy, 2021 may end with him being placed high on a few lists. With his new single, “Imperfections”, he may be connecting with the people in a whole different way.

Produced by Week.day of Tru Ambassador Entertainment, 450 shows vulnerability on “Imperfections” by sharing some of the wrongs he has committed in his life. Despite these actions coming back to affect him negatively, he admits he’s not perfect, and he’s remorseful on all that he has done to hurt those close to him. Since the song’s release on June 7, it has been quickly embraced by the public for its very relatable content, scored thousands of plays across various music streaming platforms, and has received endorsements by the likes of Irie FM’s DJ Bryan, Footballer/Producer Kyle Butler, Dancehall Artiste Dovey Magnum, Tru Ambassador Entertainment boss Jahvy Ambassador, and many others. 

Accompanying the “Imperfections” single is a music video shot by Damaniac Visualz and directed by Jahvy Ambassador (Tru Ambassador Entertainment), and it finds 450 secluded to the hills to be one with his thoughts, looking back at the bad choices he’s made in life, and contemplating ending it all. Since the video’s release, it earned a place in the “Trending” section on Youtube, and is currently peaking at #8 in the “Music” section for Jamaica amassing over 300,000 views. 450 plans to extend the global reach for “Imperfections” in the coming weeks, and is working on a follow up single.

Barrington Levy’s “Broader Than Broadway” Featured In New “The Harder They Fall” Trailer

The minute you start watching this trailer for the upcoming Netflix Film, “The Harder They Fall“, you’ll hear that easily recognizable “Here I come” line from the legendary Barrington Levy. Once again, Jamaican music has popped up in something that we know many are going to love. Black Cowboys are the order of the day in this Jeymes Samuel directed Film starring Regina King, Delroy Lindo, Idris Elba, Jonathon Majors, and many more!

As previously mentioned, music from Barrington Levy was featured in the form of a remixed version of his 1985 classic, “Broader Than Broadway” a.k.a. “Here I Come“. Produced by Paul “Jah Screw” Love, the single was released through the Thunderbolt Label, and is one of Levy’s biggest hits to date. Also featured in the trailer for “The Harder They Fall” (which borrows a lyric from another Jamaican Icon, Jimmy Cliff from his 1972 classic, “The Harder They Come“), is Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti’s 1971 track, “Let’s Start” featuring Ginger Baker. This one goes out the ladies who know they look good, who have a banging body with a sexy personality to match. Summer is officially here, and New York based Recording Artist Triszy looks to turn the heat up with the new single, “Pretty N Clean“.

Produced by DJ Iggy and DJ CM, “Pretty N Clean” finds Triszy linking up with frequent collaborator Jayy Lav, and bringing in top Dancehall Artist Munga Honorable to deliver a track that’s bound to become a summer favourite. Featuring some fun production, the ladies are sure to put on their best moves when this is played. A song that has been in the making for quite some time, Triszy brings some New York/Dominican vibes to this one while Jayy Lav comes through with some Hip Hop, and Munga Honorable brings his signature Dancehall sound to help make this track one that promises to be a hit in no time. Triszy is a member of the Brooklyn based Tha Mixed Breedz collective with Jayy Lav, and has shown versatility with singles like “If Is One Thing”, “Take Off”, “Perform”, and “No ?”.

Yung Ras Delivers The Melodies On “She Likes”

Sometimes, the best way for someone to express themself is through song. Recording Artist Yung Ras has been doing that for quite some time, and has yielded excellent results. A few weeks ago, he went viral thanks to a video of him singing his heart out. Naturally, people wanted to hear more, and they’ll get it in the form of today’s post. We present to you Yung Ras’ new single, “She Likes“.

Produced by DenoDidItRight! and Mxssivh for Attomatic Records and Dynasty Records, Yung Ras sings of the praises he gets when he treats his lady right. From giving her the best love, he drops lyrics about what he does to keep her going, and at the same time exalts her for being amazing. The song was produced on the “My Letter To You Riddim“, and was given a visual treatment which was directed by Kreative Klique. Expect this track and visual to go viral, and we know Yung Ras has a lot more tricks up his sleeves for the coming months. Stay tuned.
