Sizzla Makes A Dedication To All Mothers On “Happy Mother’s Day”!

May 9 is a day that is celebrated as “Mother’s Day”. The day finds many Mothers being celebrated, showered with gifts and special treatment, and loved in many ways. In the Caribbean, you can hear dedications of all sorts on the Radio, and events were held in the honour of many Moms. Known for delivering the classic “Thank You Mama” in the mid 2000s, Reggae Icon Sizzla Kalonji surprises the world with the release of “Happy Mother’s Day”!

Produced and released through his Kalonji Music Production, Sizzla brings a wonderful presentation of uplifting lyrics, timeless melodies, and a powerful dedication to all the Mothers out there. While many Mothers are no longer present with some of us, Sizzla looks to comfort those who miss them, and further emphasize that a Mother is one of the most important persons in one’s life. Love, honour, cherish, celebrate, and respect Mama!

Upcoming Artist Puzzle XIII is working his way up to becoming a prominent name in the Dancehall scene. Having made some noise last year with “Sivin’“, he follows up with a track that promises to be a part of Summer 2021. Take a listen to “Saucy“.

Produced by Highest Audio Productions, Puzzle XIII jumps on an uptempo riddim to drop lyrics for the ladies, and gives listeners a look into his lifestyle. OLDIES SUNDAY: Jessie Ripoll Children’s Choir – Hands Across Jamaica (1995)

Happy Sunday, and it’s a new month! May is recognized as Child’s Month, and on Oldies Sunday we celebrate the youth. For today’s selection, we go back a couple decades for a song that has touched many, and was presented by the youth. Today we look back at the Jessie Ripoll Children’s Choir’s “Let’s Join Hands Across Jamaica For Righteousness“.

Released in 1995 as through the “Hands Across Jamaica For Righteousness” Organization which was founded by Motivational Speaker, Yvonne Coke, “Hands Across Jamaica” was the theme song for the Organization which sought to achieve “Motto, Anthem and Pledge (MAP) until every Jamaican is made fully conscious of the potential of their godly inheritance of beauty, fellowship and prosperity, and move to fulfill Jamaica’s mandate to advance the welfare of the whole human race.” The song was performed by members of the Jessie Ripoll School’s Children’s Choir, and was a staple in the media for years. The song was also given a music video treatment which was produced by the Creative Production & Training Centre (CPTC). This selection may bring back a lot of memories for some, including former members of the Children’s Choir. Let the kids inspire you to do some good today.

If you’re familiar with these Dancehall Giants’ careers, you know they’ll never flop when given the chance to represent. We expect to see a music video for this very soon. Sad One Is Not The One To Ramp With In “Underground” Video

Hip Hop and Dancehall are just two genres that will never leave each other out. No matter how many changes they go through, there will be creators that will blend them together to make great music. Since the advent of the UK, Chicago, and New York “Drill” movements, many artists have been utilizing the new sounds, and making hits of their own. One of the latest artists to do so is Jamaican Rapper Sad One with the track, “Underground“.

With a video directed by Sad One, FaceXpression, and Teshaun Williams, viewers will find Sad One playing the role of a Gangster Boss as a character played by Social Media personality Cuz reaches out to him and airs out his troubles. Sad One then makes the necessary moves to rectify Cuz’s situation, and viewers will see that Sad One is not the person to ramp with. Keep an eye out for Sad One, we believe you’ll be hearing a lot more from him in coming months.

Remember when Tommy Lee Sparta was the newest member of the Gaza Empire? Years later, the “Sparta Boss” has acquired quite a following. Despite the fame and notoriety, the law is still within arms reach of him. Currently incarcerated, he still manages to get his work out in the streets just like his mentor Vybz Kartel. Today, we hear them reunited on the track, “Dark Ages“.

Produced and released through Naviigator Entertainment, Tommy Lee Sparta and Vybz Kartel have no fear when it comes to tackling their enemies. When it’s a Gaza/Sparta link up, we know it’s no laughing matter. Over some dark production, the duo gets lyrically aggressive, but keep their weapons of mass destruction very close. Though both artists are going through incarceration, the fans are continuing to fuel their respective movements. From Portmore to Mobay, to all parts of the world.
