Accurate! Today Kabaka Pyramid released the visual for a single that has been making its rounds. The DJ Frass produced “Never Gonna Be A Slave“, which was directed by Eric Christian King and shot in Kingston, Kabaka speaks on not being a slave to the system, never selling out on his beliefs, how people suffer in the system, discrimination, and promoting consciousness. Very good video here and I like the shots where Kabaka is on top of the building and when he’s interacting with people. “The fire burning immaculate“. “Personally” is a single created by the Nigerian duo P-Squared. Since its release it has been a hit on Youtube and many other avenues. It has been so much of a hit that Jamaican acts have gravitated to the Instrumental and today Busy Signal is one of those acts to tackle it. Titled “Professionally“, Busy speaks on being the ladies man and the things he does with them professionally. He also drops a line about selling platinum records and aiming for a Grammy. Jamaicans are not new at having their own take on a popular song but Busy Signal had to make sure he did it justice. Wine fi me baby. Fusing together Dancehall and Pop genres is the all girl band known as Adahzeh with their first single. Titled “Caliente Girls“, these girls let us know that they leave burn marks on the dance floor and turn the heat up a few notches wherever they are. With great production backing them, they make a declaration of being the life of the party, quite the lookers, Independent and Intelligent. Not a bad effort here, looking forward to hearing more from them and they remind me a little of 80s all girl band Klymaxx. What do you think? It’s that time again to rave and Alison Hinds dropped a new single to assist you with that. Titled “Tread On De Road“, she’s promoting treading, ladies shaking their bumpers, and nonstop partying. This sounds like something you should listen to before making your way to a Soca session and during a Fete where you and over revelers take over the road. What do you think? Dancehall Music and Hip Hop have influenced many the world over but today Jamaican Hip Hop meets Italian Hip Hop thanks to Vaccadon, Jamil and TMO The Militant One with their new video. Titled “Zoo Bwoy“, we hear the artists talk about the lives they live (in their native tongues) and we see Vaccadon and TMO interact with others in a studio while Jamil holds it down with his crew elsewhere. While many may not be fluent in Italian, we can enjoy the visuals and the three rappers’ deliveries. Italy meets Jamaica. What do you think? It is said the Gospel should be spread to all four corners of the earth.
