Faith Callender Celebrates “Chapter 33” With New Project

Aging is a blessing. To see a certain amount of years in life and to have various experiences are to be appreciated and celebrated. For Bajan Recording Artist Faith Callender, she sees aging as an opportunity to do a lot more in her life, and be a source of inspiration for many. This year, she celebrates a milestone with her new project, “Chapter 33“.

Featuring 11 tracks, Faith Callender reflects on her life’s journey, looks to the future, and focuses on what’s important with her “Chapter 33” project. Messages of God, family, and success are present here, but she still ensures that her core fanbase gets access to her signature sound. “Chapter 33” features production from Barry Hill, Azani Delsol, DJ Spider, Swayne Boyce, Suh Rawh, and DMG, while G.E.O., Azizi Clarke, Nikita Browne, and Shadia Marshall make appearances on the album. Faith Callender is in her “Jesus Year“, and she’s going to make the year count. More life.

There have been generations of talented individuals who take the sounds of the Caribbean, and influenced and entertained the world. Trini Artist Jimmy October is one of those Artists who has taken his sound to various parts of the world in person, and through online means. This summer, he introduces us to his “Sounds Of Java“.

Featuring 4 tracks, Jimmy October takes his creativity to next levels in the new “Sounds Of Java” EP. The hot times call for hot tunes, and Jimmy has something for you to jam to, and something to get close to someone special to. “Sounds Of Java” enlisted the likes of Brooklyn Decent, Zungu Beatz, Jon McColin, and Davxs on production, while Kilu joins in on the fun. OLDIES SUNDAY: Bagga Brown Ft. Tiger & The Jays – Daddy Marcus (1987)

On August 17, the world will celebrate the 139th birthday of Jamaica’s 1st National Hero, Pan-Africanist, Activist The Rt. Excellent Marcus Garvey. His teachings continue to spread around the world and influence many, and many are still paying tribute to his greatness. Ahead of his birthday celebrations, we share a tribute to this great Man on “Oldies Sunday“. We go back in time to check out Bagga Brown’s “Daddy Marcus“.

Produced by and released through FM-2 Records in 1987 and featuring Tiger and The Jays, Bagga Brown tells the world of the greatness of Marcus Garvey in, “Daddy Marcus”. They highlight Garvey’s mission to liberate Black people, speak on his teachings being an important asset to the young and old, and encourage listeners to study his work. Known as a Media Personality and Master Of Ceremonies/Emcee, Brown recorded a number of singles over the years including “Daddy Marcus”, and enlisting Tiger, who was a popular Deejay at the time, and having The Jays provide melodies made the track one that many tuned in to. While there is no chart information for this one, the song would go on to be an important as it highlights Jamaica’s 1st National Hero.

Since the release of “Daddy Marcus”, Bagga Brown went on to seal his place in Jamaica’s media landscape, and maintained popularity on and off the air. Basil “Bagga” Brown would pass away in 2011 after a battle with Bone Cancer. Many still remember the works of Bagga Brown, including “Daddy Marcus”.

Over the past few weeks, Producer Chambah has been making some noise with his “Air Force Riddim“. With singles by IWaata, Rajahwild, Laden, and Vybz Kartel, the Riddim looks to secure a spot as one of the year’s best. Dancehall Artist Ai Milly, fresh off of the release of his “Old Milly” project, joins the Riddim with his track, “Gen4“.

Ai Milly keeps the energy going with his single “Gen4” on Chambah’s “Air Force Riddim”. Live from the Trap, Milly stays getting to the money, avoiding anything and anyone who aim to slow down his grind, and delivers a track that’ll have the fans dancing, and keeping it on repeat. He even gets in the “Red Light Pepper Light” vibe in parts of the track. When it comes to musical output, Ai Milly gets busy. For over 50 years, Clive Hunt has been a name to know in Reggae Music. His hands crafted sounds for many legendary Artists, built careers, and built a grand legacy. Whoever you name in Jamaican music, Hunt’s name is somewhere in the credits. Still doing the necessary work, he takes the time to put himself on the stage like never before. He steps out with the new album, “Undeniably Clive Hunt a.k.a. Lizzard“.

Featuring 11 tracks, Clive Hunt gets vocal for his new album, “Undeniably Clive Hunt a.k.a. Lizzard”. While he is a great conversationalist, he gets to singing on the album, sharing a side that only a few got a chance to experience. Comprised of songs he has written, co-written, and recorded over the years, he taps into a lot of social commentary, showcasing an extension of his array of skills which includes his production and arrangement throughout with Co-Producer Rowen Johnson for Love Injection Productions. French Recording Artist Yaniss Odua makes an appearance for one track.

At the age of 74, Clive Hunt shows that he’s still strong with the creativity, and along as there is life, anything is possible. Get to know this other side of a Reggae legend.

Dancehall Artist Masicka is a King. Not a Burger King, but a Dancehall King. Having solidified his name for well over a decade in Jamaican music, he put in the work to be where he is. Despite beefs, controversies, and jeers from detractors, he found the balance with hit singles, International deals, National recognition, and a number of accolades. He has a right to take the Crown, and his 3rd album “Forever Reign” looks to maintain his stance.

Featuring 17 tracks, Masicka charges with authority for his new “Forever Reign” album. No crazy rollouts, no unnecessary methods for attention, just solid. music, and a showcase of Dancehall excellence. Like his previous albums, he has something for everybody, from street singles, to something for the ladies, to motivational music. The years have passed, and his growth in Dancehall is evident, with his sharp lyricism intact. Production on “Forever Reign” includes the likes of Attomatic Records, Dan Sky Records, Dunw3ll, Dre Skull, and Di Genius, while he shares the stage with Kraff, Lila Ike, Nigerian Artist Blaqbonez, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley. The people crown him King, and while there are many in this league, he makes his place at the throne.
