It’s all about the ladies from the Motherland in this one as Singer/Producer Roe Summerz teams up with “Da Big Voice” Edley Shine in “African Girls (Ethiopian Girls)“! Directed by Devin Johnson, we find the duo taking it to the club as they party and get to know some lovely ladies. Roe Summerz delivers the vocals for the beauties, while Edley deejays his way to their hearts. The track is a Shinealous Records release, and is expected to add extra heat this Summer! Edley Shine is of the Born JAmericans and RefixKingz fame, and has been dropping singles over the year through his US based Shinealous Records while Roe Summerz has been producing and collaborating with the likes of GiRL (“High”), and Maticulus Auburn (“All For You”). Having produced newcomer Yanah’s single, “The Cycle” and her “Believe In You” Freestyle, delivered the right Riddim with fellow Producer BoomDraw for Blvk H3ro & Leno Banton’s “Sky Dive”, expect to hear more of this creative this year!

You’ve enjoyed many of his productions that have been complimented with the vocals of Jamar McNaughton, and he has an arsenal ready to go toe to toe with the best of Producers. While putting the final touches on his upcoming “Nino” Mixtape, he fires off a warning with “Homage“. Produced by NineSix, Slim lets listeners in on what’s to come on his new project. Still hustling like he has one more job to do before hitting the jackpot, you have to respect his ambition. Those who doubted will be inspired, and those who wrote him off with regret it. I hope today’s Oldies Sunday selection inspires you. Today’s selection comes from Gospel Recording Artist and Minister Carlene Davis, and Recording Artist Ken Boothe. We go back to 1992 with “Why Me Lord” which was featured on Carlene’s Gospel Reggae album, “Jesus Is Only A Prayer Away“, released by VP Records. A cover of Country Singer/Actor Kris Kristofferson’s 1973 single, Carlene and Ken joined forces, and their powerful voices to deliver this inspirational tune. The song was also covered over the years by the late Elvis Presley, the late Johnny Cash, Cece Winans, and the late Conway Twitty.

With a few years in the game, Florida based Recording Artist Khxos (formerly Khaos) has been releasing Dancehall tunes and gaining attention thanks to Social Media. He received a buzz that started to bubble in Summer 2015 thanks to the release of “One Touch”. Summer 2016 kept the ball rolling with his debut EP “Deception”, but collaborations with Andrew Trabass, Chargii, and Lincoln 3Dot helped to keep it blazing for the rest of the year. Early 2017 however saw his name change, and the release of “So Loud” and “BOMM” propelled him as one to watch this Summer as he prepares to release his debut Album, “Dopamine”.
They don’t call him “El Fuego” for nothing, his music keeps you on your toes, and his lyrics hit like the hot oil from frying Plantains. This Artist has been quietly making his way onto the scene and has made appearances from “New Wave” to “Live From Kingston: Class 2016”, to “Imprint” to Protoje’s “For The Culture” event. His collaborations with the likes of Lila Ike, Runkus, and Leno Banton have received numerous hits on Soundcloud, and he hits the road (or Air) with Runkus as a part of the “Class Is In” European Tour and a stop at the German Summerjam this Summer!
This Songstress came as a surprise this year with the release of her debut single, “So Shy”. Known as “The First Lady Of REM”, she followed up with a freestyle (Believe In You), and a follow up single titled “The Cycle”.
