Trinidad’s bringing in some new heat today courtesy of Jimmy October and Jay Nahge! Titled “Tag ‘Em Up” and produced by Anson Soverall, the duo decided to flex on a beat that sounds “Jumping on the V.I.P. Couch“, “Order more bottles” and “Make it rain in the club” ready. Dropping lyrics back and forth, if you haven’t heard Hip Hop out of T&T, today changes all that. No stranger to this Blog, DJ Ariez recently became a member of “The Ultimate” DJ collective, Chromatic. Here he teams up with fellow member Shantonio (Tonio) to deliver the live audio named “Island Invasion: Quick Fyah“. Spinning the hits, these two made sure you have a very enjoyable experience. It is recommended that you play this at a high volume, and keep the Auxiliary Cord handy. If you’ve been to an event where Chromatic played, then you’ll not be disappointed. Congrats to the homie Ariez on the move, but right now it’s time to party! Check out the mix below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
It’s no secret that Hip Hop Artist Drake is a fan of Jamaica’s music culture. From his choice of slang, to his affiliations, to his hometown being chock full of the Jamaican influence, it’s only right that his “Views” album gets some of the essence. Off the recently released album, Dancehall Artist Mavado is featured on Views’ 2nd track, “9“. “9” features a sample from the Deejay’s 2007 single “Dying” off his “Gangsta For Life” debut album. “Dying” was produced by DASECA Productions and features Serani. It’s not the first time both Artists have crossed paths as Mavado played a role in Drake’s “Find Your Love” video off “Thank Me Later“, and Drake was a guest during Mavado’s set at “Britjam 2011“. “Views” also sampled Beenie Man’s “Tear Off Mi Garment” on an updated version of “Controlla” which was previously leaked with Dancehall Artist Popcaan. “Controlla” also gave writing credits to Jamaican Producer Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor and Supa Dups. “Tear Off Mi Garment” was produced by Patrick Roberts and was released in 1995 on the “Urkle Riddim“. Popcaan’s “Love Yuh Bad” is also sampled on the Rihanna assisted “Too Good” and also includes Supa Dups in the writing credits. The track was produced by Dre Skull and is featured on Popcaan’s debut album, “Where We Come From“. Popcaan is currently affiliated with Drake’s OVO group. “Views” is now available on iTunes.

If you were offline yesterday, members of Power 105.1’s “Breakfast Club” Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee Interviewed Cash Money Records’ Boss, Birdman. In what was considered their shortest Interview ever, Birdman went off on the Radio personalities about tarnishing his name and walking out of the studio. Earlier, Producer/DJ Kickraux blessed the Internet with his EDM Remix of said Interview where he added his own magic to the already hot topic. Y’all finished or y’all done? While Stoners united on 4/20, Recording Artist Leno Banton says everyday is 4/20 with “Ganja Phenomenon“. Produced by SNR, the “Ganja baby of the Original Ganja Baby” delivers a smoker’s anthem detailing the quality of herb he prefers, and makes a call for the Ganja Man over a very trippy production. How do you prefer your weed? Get a bag, a grinder, and prepare to take flight with the track below. Share your thoughts in the comments section.
