StuntMan: @IAmSafaree Fires Shots In New @FunkFlex Freestyle!

Many have thrown dirt his way over the years, but Recording Artist/Fur Expert Safaree stands tall regardless. Recently, he stopped by the Hot 97 Studio to rap a few bars for Funkmaster Flex. As a part of the DJ’s Freestyle series, Safaree fires off in episode 78. From changing furs during, to sending a jab at fellow Jamaican, popular Youtube personality DJ Akademiks, we’re surprised he didn’t throw his signature “Suck ya mada” during. Not a bad episode here, Safaree makes sure he adds his “Stuntman” charisma throughout. Shout out Messiah the “Fur God“. Catch Safaree in a city near you, or a TV near you. Check out the video below.

Jamaican Entrepreneur Wins Award From City University of London

Lauren Le Franc, a Jamaican Entrepreneur residing in
the United Kingdom, has won a Graduate Award from City University of London to expand her already established Coffee Business, J.A. Island Roasters. As part of her award package, Le Franc also secured a location for her business at the University’s Cass Business School, and is looking at commencing operations in the upcoming weeks.

Le Franc, a qualified Barrister of England and Wales who first set up the company in Jamaica in 2011 while completing her legal education, has been focused on selling roasted Coffee through J.A. Island Roasters under the brand, True Blue 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. With this award she is looking forward to importing organic and non-organic Jamaican green beans to the U.K. from the world-famous Blue Mountains.
She said the award package also covers operational costs, and comes with mentorship and support from the University. “I’m elated to have such an amazing opportunity to expand my business and to take brand Jamaica a step further into the spotlight,” shared Le Franc. “I already have a Distributor who has been contracted to take all my organic Coffee, I look forward to continuing the work with the Coffee Industry Board on this venture and I am heading into business with an optimistic mindset and a winning attitude.”

In 2014, J.A. Island Roasters received approval from the Certification of Environmental Standards (CERES) – an International organization which offers certification for organic farming and food processing, to maintain good practices in the Food Industry. Then, she received approval from the Coffee Industry Board to export organic certified Jamaican Blue Mountain green bean Coffee. Although she found favour for her roasted Coffee in the Asian market, she was in search of additional opportunities for development when she came across the City University of London’s Entrepreneur Graduate Scheme Competition in 2016, and her big break came when she decided to participate.

Discovered What? We look Back At Burning Spear’s “Columbus” (1980)

We wanted to drop this yesterday on “Oldies Sunday“, but didn’t get to. While today many Americans recognize “Columbus Day“, many folks have done their revision on World History over the years, and have since challenged the higher ups to discredit the “Discoveries” of Christopher Columbus and recognize the day as “Indigenous Peoples Day“. While the European Explorer made his travels with the Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria, he couldn’t have discovered land that was already occupied. Calling him out on the claims is Reggae Icon Burning Spear with “Columbus“!

Released in 1980, and featured on his Album “Hail H.I.M.“, Spear calls out Columbus as a “Damn blasted liar” and sets the record straight on what the Explorer really did. He didn’t discover Jamaica or all the lands he has claimed to discover! What happened to the Arawak people? What happened to the black people that were already here? Why are they still celebrating this man? There have been protests for years, and there will be more until the day is more recognized for Indigenous People (big up the 55 cities in the US that have made the change). Stay woke! Have a listen to the tune below.

@OneRomone’s Selfishness Is On Another Level In “Yeah Yeah” Parody Video!

Ladies, have you ever been with a financially mean Partner? How was it for you? There are some Men that are so tight with their money in a relationship, you’d think the money was their significant other. Comedian OneRomone however, plays that role in his latest video! Making a Parody of Dancehall Artist Aidonia’sYeah Yeah” hit, Romone goes off in a Mean Men members’ meeting about not spending on his Women, making sure he doesn’t satisfy their material demands, and even penny pinching when it comes to food. Instead of “Yeah Yeah Yeah“, he wilds out and shouts “No No No“! I’m sure Rom isn’t like that in real life, we know the ladies would be on his case in an instant! Big up Aidonia and 4th Genna Music as well. Directed by the Warren Weir helmed “Weirz World“, and an apperance by Kevin2WoKrayzee, check out the video below!
