We Pulled Up To: “Light Speed w/ @LenoBanton”

On August 18, we checked out “Light Speed w/ Leno Banton” at Hope Gardens, St. Andrew. With a 2 PM start, we were greeted by a Guitar strumming Leno Banton and joined some of his friends who included Recording Artists Blvk H3ro and Sheenworks, Cultural Brand Strategist Habibi Bailey of Wengi Kofia, Photographer/Artist Jeana Lindo, DJ Josh Era, Artist Khari Kamau, and more. If you were there, you’d be treated to music, water, snacks, good vibes, a generous amount of Herb, and a lot of great conversation. Start A Party “Pon D Block” With @MentalChung’s New Tune!

Remember Mental Chung? He had a nice run a few years ago with his “DuttyBwoy” Youtube Animation series which featured the likeness of Vybz Kartel, Usain Bolt, Bounty Killa, and Mavado. He has also done work for Tommy Lee Sparta, Vybz Kartel, and Zamunda to name a few. He also took a crack at being a Dancehall Artist and recently dropped a new video called, “Pon D Block“! Directed by Chung and Zenny with production by Nicetime Productions, Chung takes on the role of a DJ throwing a party in the neighbourhood. From there we get scenes of dancers putting on the moves including a Shopkeeper who couldn’t help herself, and Chung bringing the vibes wherever he goes. A fun song to listen to, and the video is one to watch many times. Thank you Mental Chung for the “DuttyBwoy” series, we hope that comes back too. It’s still party time over here, so get in this club! To join in on the summer fun, DJ/Producer/Producer Blizzi took time out from cooking up his upcoming project to release, “Good Time“! Produced by DJ Blizzard Music and featuring Singer Savone, Blizzi drops a song that has that chilling on the beach/laying up in a hammock/seeing the view from the 50th floor of the Penthouse vibe. Blizzi’s laid back flow, Savone’s syrupy vocals and a sample from Toots Hibbert & The Maytal’s “54-46 Was My Number” are key to keeping this one on repeat. For those unfamiliar, Blizzi is the Grandson of the legendary Toots Hibbert who has been doing his thing for quite some time. If you’re not picturing yourself hitting the road and escaping all the stress, you need to listen to this a few more times.
