On tonight’s episode of The Voice, Tessanne was requested to perform early. Tonight she sang No Doubt’s hit song “Underneath It All” that featured deejay Lady Saw. With a slightly rocky start, Tessanne quickly picked up her footing and not only did the song justice, but also deejayed Lady Saw’s part. Great performance from her. Today’s new video comes from the multifaceted crooner, Mario Evon. Titled “Soul Tek” and directed by Reynaldo Martin, we see Mario pursuing a young lady, having conversations with her, having fun and getting cozy with her on the country side. We also have scenes of Mario singing in beautiful locations showing off lush vegetation. Great effort from Mr. Evon as he has a really good single here. Heard the acoustic version to this for the first time at Pay Attention on October 5, 2013 and I can say it’s something to keep near for the romantic moments. After burning up the airwaves with the original, it was only right that A$AP Ferg requested a verse from Shabba Ranks to make the remix. “Shabba Ranks (Remix)” also features Busta Rhymes and Migos, who had a hit with “Versace“. This was a decent effort as many haven’t heard a Shabba verse in years and Busta Rhymes had to help represent on the microphone. The Migos feature was an odd one though. A$AP Ferg’s “Trap Lord” album is still in stores. Is this remix a sign of new things to come from Shabba? Maybe. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
