1. 80s Babies – DJ Richie Ras

This Mixtape was the perfect trip down memory lane for an 80s baby like me. It brought me back to the good old days of listening to Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg while driving around Kingston with my Uncle.

2. 2016 Soca Teaser – Shane Talon

Carnival 2016 is well on the horizon so you know that means loads of new Soca hits to usher any Socaphile into the season. Shane Talon is another 13thStreetPromotions find and I think his mixes are simply superb. This one is no different.

DJ Charlotte is one of Trinidad & Tobago’s hottest DJs. This release coincided with the 2016 YUMA Carnival Band launch for Trinidad Carnival and it is a sweet mix indeed. The perfect confectionary of Soca, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Top 40 hits. Released 2 Months ago on her Sound Cloud, it is a favourite for me!

Dance 101 Podcast Episode 1 – DJ Puffy

Those who know me well know that I love EDM as much as I love Soca and Dancehall! Barbados’ finest (To me definitely), DJ Puffy goes in hard with this EDM mix. I literally feel like I am at Tomorrowland or some other huge EDM festival just listening to this high energy mix.

Chromatic Way – DJ Heavy D & DJ Shantonio from Chromatic

Taking it back to yard (never stray far from my roots)this time around, this mixtape showcases the talents of 2 members of one of Jamaica’s hottest Sound Systems, Chromatic. This mix of some of the hottest Top 40, Hip Hop and Dancehall hits and numerous Dub samples is an eargasmic treat.

NEW VIDEO: @NomadCarlos – One Way Route

It’s all about the mystery package in Nomad Carlos’ new video off his “Distants EP“. Titled “One Way Route” and directed by David DaCosta, we see Nomad heading into the town with a package when he suddenly met in a car crash that resulted in someone retrieving the mentioned package and taking off before being shot in the back by an unknown assailant. Given the various points in the video, Nomad’s package has something to do with the kidnapping of a young lady he was having a conversation with in the beginning. While the video may slightly confuse a few, this could be one piece to Nomad’s vision in future videos. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @MatomaOfficial x @Wale x @PopcaanMusic – Feeling Right

Dancehall Artist Popcaan has been a person of interest in the Hip Hop circles lately. From his contribution to Pusha T’s “Blocka“, to being affiliated with Drake’s OVO camp, to working with Young Thug, and now being sampled on Norway Producer Matoma and Rapper Wale’s new track. The single, titled “Feeling Right (Everything Is Nice)“, this is a feel good track featuring Wale dropping some chill lyrics over a Caribbean tinged production with Popcaan’s vocals from “Everything Nice” adding some more Island flavour. With the right push, this could be a big single and another great look for the “Unruly Boss“. Something to spin a few times over the Heroes Day Weekend and beyond.
