NEW VIDEO: @LLCoolJ x @Mavado_Gully – The Hustler

Posted on by swadedavillain

MLL

After teaming up some time ago, one of Hip Hop’s greatest Rappers, LL Cool J and the Gully God, Mavado drop the visual to “The Hustler“. Directed by Benny Boom and shot in New York, we hear the artists speak on the street life while we witness see some of the activities that happen in the New York streets. While some may see it as an odd combination, I like that Mavado got a chance to work with one of Hip Hop’s elite artists. LL Cool J’s new album will hit the streets very soon. Always remember where you came from. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @Wayne_Marshall x @TheCham x @AceHood x @WakaFlockaBSM – Go Harder

WM

After dropping the star studded “Go Hard“, then another with “Go Harder“, Dancehall artist Wayne Marshall finally dropped the visuals for the latter. Directed by Jon J. Visuals and features Baby Cham, Ace Hood and Waka Flocka, the video shows the artists dropping their lyrics in a warehouse setting with girls dancing to the tune. Damian Marley also makes a cameo appearance in the video. Not a bad effort here, the video has a dark feel to it however. Still not a fan of Waka’s verse but will look out for the next time he collabs with another Jamaican artist. Wayne’s “Tru Colors” project is on iTunes now. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Mixtape: @Fiyahrama23 x @UnitedEmpire_JA Present: The New West Vol. 1

Posted on by swadedavillain

When you hear “West Side“, many would be quick to refer to California where Hip Hop greats like Dr. Dre and Tupac enjoyed the prime of their musical careers. Today, the West refers to the western part of Jamaica, home to the United Empire and with Texas based DJ Fiyahrama, they release the first in their “The New West” series. Consisting of 17 tracks, this showcases the musical efforts from Slim I.D., MoulaDiDon, Twig, Sauce, GMoney I.D., Kanabis, Tazz, Minx, Super Pugz, and JayDaFilly. The United Empire lets it be known that Hip Hop is not just an American thing or should only reside on the East side of Jamaica, they set up shop and want their turn of the spotlight. Not a bad compilation here as they do hold their own on the tracks. The only problem I had with this tape was the “Pull up” clip being used way too many times. Get this one on your playlists and hear what the West has to say. Check out the tape below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
