Recently, we at 13thStreetPromotions had the opportunity to listen to an early copy of Dancehall Artist Khaos’ “Deception EP”. With today being the day of the project’s release, we present to you the review! – SwadeDaVillain

Let me start by saying this, I sincerely appreciate Khaos for keeping 13thStreetPromotions in the loop where Deception is concerned. Very professional looks especially where promotion is concerned and I must say that I’ve definitely learnt a lot through working with him. The graphics, pics, audio, videos etc. are A1!

I notice that the theme “One Fuck” is prevalent throughout the entirety of the 5-track extended play. This keeps the theme relevant! Very good job.

REVIEW

One Fuck
The original. Khaos made this into a household name and it continues to beat the streets hard. As a true “trapskull”, I have to admit that I wasn’t 100% sold on “One Fuck” after its initial release. Worse, when I heard “Make Love” [after One Fuck was released as a single] and even more recently, “Don’t Remix”. What had me completely stunned though was the reception of “One Fuck” by Khaos’ core fan base. The Deception EP’s leading single is literally a social sensation that has had much of its impact on and throughout the Jamaican Twitter community. There are threads upon threads related to the hashtag #OneFuck and for that reason, I have come to understand what makes “One Fuck” successful as a single, in and of itself. With a clean version available, Khaos has been able to market the track to hardcore fans as well as to DJs [local + international] for radio spins.
Search Fi Love
Now this… connected with me on a more personal level and just like with “One Fuck” it took me a good couple listens to fully wrap my head around the concept. I am not unfamiliar with the actual “Search For Love” but let’s discuss the immediate switch up; though the drum kit [rhythm] remains similar to the previous track, there is the sound of a harp that strikingly contrasts the way Khaos lets us know that he is in no way, shape or form interested in falling for his “One Fuck”. The contrast here depicts how sweet her touch was/is but Khaos shakes us [listeners] back to reality, this is Deception!

Dancehall Artiste Balino recently previewed a new single titled “Deep”. The Artiste is confident that this single will do well locally and internationally. The single, produced by DJ Kunteh of DJ Kunteh Records, has been doing exceptionally well and has been gaining steam in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. Balino couldn’t be happier with the feedback that he has been getting.

“I have been receiving excellent vibes in street dances and the audience. Majority of the Selectors and Disc Jocks are requesting dubs and jingles.”said Balino. The single is now available on iTunes and is distributed by 21st Hapilos Digital. The artiste gets his inspirations from personal experiences. “I was inspired to write this song. It was from a personal experience with a female. As an up-and-coming Dancehall Artiste I write from my personal experiences, therefore it intrigued me to create this song.” said the Artiste.

Balino is currently working in the studio on his new single called “Sky Life” featuring Ravers Clavers. The song is being produced by New York based Black Eagle Records.

PRESS RELEASE: Vybz Kartel’s “Fever” Rises

Just a few days after the release of Fever, the first single from Vybz Kartel’s “King of the Dancehall” album, the accompanying video has already amassed over 300 thousand views on YouTube. The video was directed by Jay Will/ Game Over who creatively conceptualized the masterpiece.

The video is a raunchy, sexy one that brings the words of the song to life. The lead girl in the video suffers from uncontrollable heat in her dreams, bringing on a “fever”; when she awakes she is feverish and covered in sweat. No doubt the video will continue to grow in popularity, as comments are pouring in by the minute.The song Fever comes as an instant gratification when someone purchases “King of the Dancehall”, which was made available for pre-order May 6th exclusively on iTunes.

Distributed by Zojak World Wide, the album will be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers on June 3rd, the same day the third instant gratification track, ‘Colouring This Life’, will be offered in the iTunes store. Apple Music will offer exclusive streaming one week before the album is available for download on June 10th , a service usually reserved for major label artists.

“King of the Dancehall” contains never before released tracks from Vybz Kartel, all recorded by the prolific artiste before his incarceration. The album is a collaborative effort between Adidjahiem Records/TJ Records. Over the years Vybz Kartel has created a strong following with his creative and ingenious lyrics and he shows no signs of slowing down now.

JahRomie XO is showcasing his versatility with his latest single, “Baby.” Dubbed as the bedroom anthem for the summer; “Baby” plays on the senses with its alluring and sensual lyrics that leaves a lot to the imagination.

When asked what the inspiration was behind the single, he stated, “I just felt moved to create something for the ladies. Something stimulating to the mind and body.” JahRomie definitely didn’t fall short of his goals with 1000 views on YouTube since its debut three days ago and, still climbing. It’s evident that JahRomie is pulling out all the stops to ensure his fans all across the board get a taste of what he has to offer, and so far he’s been getting great feedback. “Yeah man, I’ve been getting a lot of love for this single. I’m always confident about the music I put out but I didn’t expect it to get as much positive feedback as it has been so far”.

There’s something to be said about an artiste that can flex his lyrical muscles and still appeal to the wider audience. “Baby” is for sure poised to be on the lips of the ladies this summer; so don’t be too surprised if you hear it playing on the radio, everywhere you go. PRESS RELEASE: @RR_Musiq: The New Naughty Girl In Dancehall

Usually known for her sultry collaborations and modest style, Renee Reid popularly known as RR (pronounced Double R) has shocked her fans with a new ‘steamy’ video with Devin Di Dakta. The collaboration, ‘Rev Out the RR’, is produced by Christopher Birch for Birchill Music and on the ‘Moscato Riddim’ and has turned many heads resulting in her fans branding RR as ‘The New Naughty Girl in Dancehall’.

The single has been receiving support locally and internationally and has become a notable collaborative effort. Manager for both artistes Shelly-Ann Curran of John John Music Group is also very excited about the success of the single and the newly released video. She shared, “I ampleased with this collaborated effort and I am very happy to have signed RR to my label. She is a perfect fit. For those who know me well I am very picky when it comes to who I manage but I see a very bright further with her”.

RR is known for major collaborations such as ‘A Dat Yuh Wah’ featuring Sizzla and ‘Crazy in Love Remix’ featuring Mavado. She is now eager to journey further into dancehall; she said “Devin’s style is very hardcore but I bring the sexy side of dancehall and I love it!” When asked about working with Devin Di Dakta she described it as “an easy and memorable task”.

Both artistes performed ‘Rev Out the RR’ for the first time at the Youth View Awards earlier this year and is eagerly anticipating their performance at Reggae Sumfest 2016 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. RR can be followed on Instagram and Twitter @RR_musiq and Devin Di Dakta @DevinDiDakta.
