We’re just a couple of days away from Christmas Day, but the music will be playing before then. We understand that many of us aren’t feeling the holiday season, but we hope to bring back a few cherished memories through our selections on “Oldies Sunday“. Today’s Christmas selection comes from Dancehall Artist Dada Wasp with the track, “True Love Christmas“.

Produced by Sonny Ochiai and Trevor Lyn for Tachyon Productions and released through Alpha Enterprise in 1989, Dada Wasp had a lot to be thankful for in, “True Love Christmas”. A time when lovers are preparing to gift their significant others, Wasp was definitely in the Christmas mood as his lady showed him in more ways than one how much she cared for him. Everyday found the Deejay enjoying a new gift, and he showed his appreciation throughout. “True Love Christmas” was a Dancehall remix of the 1909 English classic “The Twelve Days Of Christmas” Christmas Carol, and gained some attention for the Deejay following its release. It was featured on the Alpha Enterprise Compilation titled, “Reggae Christmas From Jamaica“. This is our last Christmas-themed “Oldies Sunday” for the year, and we hope you all get to enjoy the holidays, even for a little bit.

One of the more lyrical acts out, he commands the beats that are sent his way, and the fans welcome every release. Some may say he’s underrated, but keeps the music production going. Recently, he made a few statements in, “MMFT (Mout Mek Fi Talk)“.

Produced by DethWrld/ProdByWalkz/CrashwehPlay Music, IWaata holds nothing back when he speaks in, “MMFT”. Once he has a good beat, he’s sharing what goes on his life, staking his claim as one of Dancehall’s best, and everything he deserves, he’s taking. With an accompanying Music Video directed by ShotByDeth and BadGee Studios, IWaata is armed with a Megaphone and his lyrical Brain, fresh from head to toe in the best, and is surrounded by the people who stand by him. He wants to close out 2025 in the best way, and many can look forward to his follow up to the Summer 2025 release, “Underrated“. Bad bad bad.

Masicka Pauses The Battle To Deliver “Her Name Is Love” For The Ladies

For the past few weeks, Dancehall Artist Masicka has been a trending topic. Why you may ask? Well, he was at a war of words with fellow Dancehall Artist Tommy Lee Sparta, with some shots sent at Vybz Kartel’s way. With fans debating who is the true winner, the 1Syde boss took a break out of the war to give the ladies something special for the holidays. He has presents, and the ladies can unwrap his new EP, “Her Name Is Love“.

Featuring 8 songs, Masicka is keeping the ladies heated with the new EP, “Her Name Is Love”. For his decade+ career, he also made sure have a few anthems for the ladies, and this project is a dedication for them. Released through Def Jam, production includes the likes of, Gray Toomey, Otis, Lily Kaplan, Manmade, Boi-1da, and Rvssian, while Rapper Lola Brooke joins Rvssian as the guest features. War time is war time, but when it comes to the ladies, everything else gets put on pause. It’s a 1Syde Christmas.

Speaking of Rock, have you heard of Jamaican Rocker Splinter XL? For a number of years, he has been showcasing his foray into the genre, tapping into different elements, and bringing out another side of expression. Hear him roar on the new single, “Screw The World“.

Self-Produced and released through SplinterNite Records, Splinter XL brings the melodies, the darkness, and the wrath in, “Screw The World”. Splinter brings a sound that many would quick to attribute to International Artists, but this is all made on home turf. He joins the list of many Artists who are influenced by genres outside of Reggae and Dancehall, and aims to take his own movement and sound to the next level. Reggae Music is a vibe, and is the music for healing. In a time where conflicts arise, we need unity, and we need love. Recording Artist Garnet Silk Jr. believes in love, and the world needs it abundantly. He sends a positive charge to the world with the single, “There Is Love“.

Released through Reuben Order Records, Garnet Silk Jr. aims to stop the wars, cast away the darkness, and bring the people together in, “There Is Love”. Presenting great vocals and drum-heavy production, Silk stands tall and militant with a message that aims to connect with the people, bringing them closer to Jah. Like his Father before him, the music is one of the best tools to use in times like these where people are focused on corruption and division. Garnet Silk Jr. aims to bring more music to the forefront in 2026, and performances including a follow up to the “Garnet Silk Legacy Day” Event, and listeners can stay tuned. Suspense & Nhance Go At It In “Broken Pieces (Remix)”

Couples fight everyday. Some work it out, others go to the extreme before calling it quits. Some pairings are never the best, while others are blessings. Dancehall Artist Suspense has had her share of bad relationships, and with “Broken Pieces (Remix)“, she makes one play out in the spotlight.

Featuring Dancehall “Monsta” Nhance, Suspense joins him in a war of words in, “Broken Pieces (Remix)”. With a video directed by JV Cinematic, the Artists play out their beef onscreen, from ignoring calls, to getting at each other vocally and nearly physically, to further separating themselves in the end. Produced by Tego Boss/Jahstarks Records, Suspense’s original track brought her some attention earlier this year, and with Nhance onboard for the remix, we can see these two taking it further with follow up releases. If the creative freedom is there, this could be a properly produced skit, with the Artists sharpening their acting skills. While the season is for unity, there is a lot of division going on.
