The Christmas season is one that brings people together, and a lil more love is shown. Unfortunately for this year, Covid 19 made sure we don’t get to be around many of those we love. It’s also a time where many loved ones are missed, whether family members or close friends who passed away, someone missing that significant other for one reason or another, or just a situation where a loved one is unable to be present. For the sad times however, we just have to celebrate as if they’re still around. Recording Artist Naomi Cowan knows a thing or two about this, and today she covers a classic on her latest release.

Taking us back to 1994, Naomi Cowan covers Mariah Carey’s classic, “Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)“. Featuring production from Tessellated and CircaEleven, Naomi gives us a beautiful take on the Carey hit with her signature vocals. Accompanying the track is a visualizer directed by JP Williams and shot at Stush in the Bush in St. Ann. The original track was the second single released from Mariah Carey’s “Merry Christmas” album, which features the timeless classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You“. If you’re missing someone during the holiday season, let Naomi’s lovely vocals put you at ease.

Watch What You Say To @MainlyMali, Those Are “Fighting Words”!

It’s been a while since we’ve featured Alex Mali, but she has been pretty busy since our last feature. Never slowing down the grind, she has been making the rounds as one of the hot artists you should have on your radar. With her unique style and Caribbean influences, you’d be lying if you don’t like what she brings to the table. Recently, she released her “Phenom EP“, and today we check out the video for one of the EP’s tracks, “Fighting Words“.

Directed by Mali, Frank Apollonio, and Xtina Prince, we hear Alex going through it with people who just can’t accept that she’s in her own world and they should mind their business. You say something slick to her however, she has the right to do something about it. The video for the track is simple but effective as she is joined by some young ladies who all have specific words written on their faces. According to Mali, those words have been stereotypically used for women over and over. The usage of them in the video shows that they won’t be oppressed by them. Alex Mali continues to showcase her unique style, and if you haven’t been hip to her yet, don’t hesitate to do so now.
