NEW VIDEO: @Protoje – Stylin’ (Lyric Video)

P

Premiering a new song today in the form of a lyric video is Reggae artist, Protoje. Titled “Stylin‘”, this was directed by Yannick Reid with shots by Nickii Kane, Art Direction by Taj Francis and features Kandi King. Great song here with a visual that is pleasing to the eye. A part that I really enjoyed was Protoje’s use of the Talk Box in the chorus. Enjoy the visuals, sing the lyrics and look out for Protoje’s 3rd studio album “Ancient Future” which is scheduled to be released in 2015. Today’s Oldies Sunday selections come from two Lions of Reggae Music, Sizzla Kalonji and Jah Cure. Titled “King In This Jungle“, this was produced by Beres Hammond for his Harmony House Productions in 1998. In this song we hear the two artists speak out on those who wish to oppress people but stumble with the help of Jah. They also consider themselves Kings in a society that’s like a Jungle and encourage people to follow Jah and have more faith in the teachings.

NEW VIDEO: @KabakaPyramid x @RealIWayne – Versatile

KI

Dropping some consciousness today are Kabaka Pyramid and I-Wayne with their new video, “Versatile“. Directed by G’Ovany and shot by Mario Francis in Cassia Park and East Kingston, we see Kabaka and I-Wayne gather with their brothers and speak about the issues in society, artists promoting the wrong things, bigging up Tessanne Chin and her talent, and how we must all be versatile. We also see scenes where a youth steals from a vendor, an old lady needing old for her lamp and of course the rasta flag waving. I liked this song the first time I’ve heard it and I’m glad a video came out for it. What do you think? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
