Following up to last year’s “H3ro’s Day“, Blvk H3ro is bringing his stash on 4/20 in the form of “THC” a.k.a. “The H3rb Connoisseur“. Featuring 7 tracks, H3ro’s “WeedP” is released just one year after Marijuana was decriminalized in Jamaica and promises to keep the Stoners feeling merry on their own version of Christmas Day. With Production from The Grei Show, BoomDraw, JLL, and a feature from Lord Leno, get ready for a project filled with Ganja anthems and the possibility of getting a high that’ll last a few days. PRESS RELEASE

In celebration of International Weed Day, more popularly known as 4/20, Blvk H3ro presents THC (The Herb Connoisseur), a musical project dedicated to the Holy Herb.

“It is a joy to share THC with my brethren in these times of Gideon,” says Blvk H3ro, “this project aims to satisfy the craving for upliftment and higher meds at this moment in our story”.

This eclectic collection of next-generation Jamaican music is released one year after the decriminalization of Ganja in Jamaica, but after decades of oppression for those defiant of the regime.

“THC will give you a different vibration and make you look at Herb differently,” he says, “too many people have suffered under the system and I forward in this time to bring a lickle joy, inspiration and creativity, so mek we bussweh!”

The Weedp has original compositions by Blvk H3ro and productions by The Grei Show, BoomDraw & Kone, JLL and Greatest. The project also features Lord Leno (son of Burro Banton). Majority of the project was recorded at Equiknoxx studios and additional mixing and mastering done by Shotta Biggs & Kris-Karz

Blvk H3ro now joins the ranks of his idols Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Sizzla Kalonji, and their diverse musical influences can be felt throughout the WeedP.

The THC Project will be officially released at Nanook, 20 Burlington Avenue, on April 20 (4/20) along with the exciting music video for ‘Herb’.

@DiRealShaggy’s “Boombastic” Featured In New @Chase Commercial!

Feeling like it’s 1995 again, “Mr. Lover Lover” a.k.a. Shaggy, had a song featured in one the latest commercials for US Banking giant, JP Morgan Chase Bank. The Commercial, promoting planning for Retirement, featured Shaggy’s 1995 hit, “Boombastic (Get It Here)” which provided the soundtrack to the 30 second clip. The single was previously featured in a 2015 Tide Commercial from the Philippines and has come a long way since being featured in a Commercial for Levi’s Jeans. “Boombastic” was the 2nd track and single off Shaggy’s Grammy winning album of the same name which went on to sell over a million copies in the US. Today I bring to you a musical selection from the one they call “El Fuego” a.k.a. Royal Blu. Titled “Jus Bill” and produced by J.L.L., we hear Blu flexing his lyrics and flows on a very laid back Jazzy Ella Fitzgerald sampled Production that will provide the soundtrack to you hopping in the car and taking that long cruise on the highway, or have you blasting it on the top of the highest elevation you have access to. Expect bouts of doing the “Dab” throughout the song, some “pull up” moments, and lots more feel good moments. This is what it sounds like when the sky is clear! Make The @PeterTosh Memorial Garden A National Historic Landmark!

Recently, the Estate of the late Peter Tosh released a petition in efforts to have the Jamaican Tourist Board and the Government of Jamaica register The Peter Tosh Memorial Garden a National Historic Landmark. The Museum, located in Belmont, Westmoreland, was erected to preserve the life and legacy of the late Musician and original member of The Wailers. The Estate believes that recognizing the Museum as a Historic Landmark will protect it for generations as Tosh was an advocate for the legalization of Marijuana, fought for Equal Rights, and further expanded Jamaica’s Music and Culture.

Peter Tosh was born in Grange Hill, Westmoreland in 1944 and was known as a Musician, Reggae Artist, and Activist. He was a core member of The Wailers along with the late Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer where he received much success before embarking a solo career. He has collaborated with the likes of Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones and recorded many great songs including “Stepping Razor“, “Legalize It“, “Johnny B Goode“, and penned songs such as “Get Up, Stand Up” and “400 Years” for The Wailers. Peter Tosh died on September 11, 1987 as a result of a home invasion. He was posthumously awarded the Order Of Merit in October 2012.

Recently, US Rapper/Chef Action Bronson took to a trip to Jamaica. Known for his love of the Jamaican music, food and culture, he filmed an episode of his popular “F**k That’s Delicious” series there. During his time here, he also recorded a few tracks including today’s “Mr. 2 Face“. With guest appearances by fellow Rapper Meyhem Lauren and Reggae Artist Jah Tiger, Bronson and Meyhem traded bars while Jah Tiger breathed new life into an old track (unsure of the date he recorded it). An interesting collaboration from the trio as they mix Hip Hop with some good Reggae and deliver a chill vibe. You can catch Bronson, Meyhem and Jah Tiger in the latest episode of “F*ck That’s Delicious” on Viceland this week.
