He aspires his love story to be like Popeye and Olive Oyl’s, the famous cartoon couple that first started in 1929, overcoming challenges, becoming stronger as the years go by. DYCR Calls Out P. Diddy In Latest Release

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, International Music Executive/Producer/Recording Artist/Mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was arrested by the FBI for a number of charges that range from racketeering, to sex trafficking. He is currently detained in Brooklyn, New York, and the public has been invested in the developments, and sharing theories about who may be committing heinous crimes with the “Diddler“. Dub Poet Delroy Chandler a.k.a. DYCR used his platform earlier to share his thoughts on the situation, and released a new selection called, “You Did It Diddy“.

Over Reggae production, DYCR asks the important questions on “You Did It Diddy”. He asks Diddy about his current allegations, his involvement in the deaths of Rappers 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G., and emphasizes that he should be punished for his crimes. The Feds have been watching Diddy for a while, and DYCR urges the former Ciroc Spokesperson to admit it all, and let the law do its job. What a poco poco indeed. DYCR’s charged delivery makes for this selection one to really listen to, and his social commentary has been connecting with many this year as he shared pieces about Vybz Kartel’s release, and even recorded over the “Dutty Money Riddim“. As the world awaits news on Diddy, DYCR continues to let his creativity flow with new selections.

Recording Artist Mortimer has made great moves in his career, and outside the studio. As a Creative, he takes his time with his craft, and makes songs that the world sings with joy. The hits are there, and his place in music is one to be respected. He has checked off a few milestones, but this one is extra special. Today, he presents his debut album, “From Within”.

Consisting of 14 tracks, Mortimer gives us some of his best work yet on his “From Within” debut. From love, to healing our mental wounds, to focusing on what really matters in life, he covers a lot on his debut, and listeners will quickly connect with his selections. OLDIES SUNDAY: Messenjah – Rock You High (1982)

Reggae Music has enjoyed a number of “firsts” over the decades, and there are times we forget about them. For today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection, we highlight one of them. Today, we head over to North America to check out Canadian Reggae Band Messenjah’s “Rock You High“.

Produced by Rupert “Ojiji” Harvey and released through Phonyx Records in 1982, Messenjah came to shake the nation with good music on “Rock You High”. Taking the music to a new stage at the time, Messenjah was the first Canadian Reggae Band to sign to a major label (Warner Music Canada a.k.a. WEA). The track got a lot of attention for the Band as it quickly became well known outside of Canada, and it became a part of their live shows over the years. The track was released through their Independently-released debut album of the same name, which went on to be a success.

Since the release of “Rock You High”, Messenjah went on to become one of Canada’s most popular and successful Reggae Bands. The Band went on to release more music, collect awards, toured for a number of years, and even being featured in the movie “Cocktail” starring a then up and coming Actor named Tom Cruise. Messenjah disband in the late 1990s, but reunited with some members in 2014 for a Bob Marley tribute concert in Toronto. “Rock You High” remains one of their most popular releases.

Reggae Artist Mackeehan has been one who has delivered music with powerful messages over the years, and he is still making it his mission. Earlier, he released the new EP, “Pieces“.

Featuring 6 tracks, Mackeehan looks to connect with more people with his new “Pieces” EP. The new EP is a follow up to the 2023 “Notes Of Passion” EP, and he aims to make the project something that becomes a mainstay until his upcoming album. Frankie Music Production oversees the sound for the EP, while guest appearances by Yaksta, Kabaka Pyramid, Trisstar, and Geo Lyrical contribute to a great listen. There is a lot of new music out, but if you’re in need of some message music, reach for the new release by Mackeehan.

Beres Hammond Kicks Off His New Year With “Let Me Help You” Video

On August 28, Jamaican music legend Beres Hammond OJ celebrated his 69th birthday. With a career spanning over 50 years, it’s definitely a blessing for the Singer to still have life, and still giving the world great music. He celebrated his new year with the release of the Music Video for the single, “Let Me Help You“.

The Music Video for Beres Hammond’s “Let Me Help You” displays good times with friends, and a Man who shows that he can still rock the crowd 50+ years in. The video features a game of Dominoes among friends, shares a few photos of Hammond in his younger days, and highlights of Hammond’s performance at the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival last May. Good to see Beres Hammond still going strong, and we wish him many more years, and here’s to him thrilling even more when he hits the stage.
