OLDIES SUNDAY: Alton Ellis – Willow Tree (1967)

After dropping Raine Seville’s “Willow Tree” yesterday, I felt it was only right to play one of the original songs. Today I feature a song by the late Alton Ellis a.k.a. the GodFather of Rocksteady. Titled “Willow Tree” and produced by Coxsone Records in 1967, this was a cover of Chuck Jackson’s “My Willow Tree” which was done in 1962 but never made it to the music charts. This song is about finding new song all while sparing the “Willow Tree” from sharing the pain of past failed relationships.

NEW VIDEO: @CollegeAccess1 Presents: “Twisted Series” Episode 4

After weeks of waiting the College Access team finally dropped the fourth installment in their “Twisted Series“. Titled “Confessions“, we see Shawn confessing to his girlfriend about the recent events that took place. The ending will surprise you. Great video, you’ll be sure to get a few laughs. NEW MUSIC: Singer J – Stay Away (Prod. By @ItsNeverSleep)

Today’s new music comes from Singer J and he really surprised me with this one. Titled “Stay Away” and produced by Never Sleep Productions on the One Life Riddim, Singer J speaks about a lover that he tries hard to get over but to no avail. He sings about how loving her gets him angry, how she never knew how much she meant to him, how hard it is to stay away from her and how she’s now with someone else. I’ve been a listener of Singer J ever since he collaborated with Q45 in the early 2000s and it really saddened me that he never got much further in the business. He is a talented person and this song is a really great one and should be getting heavy rotation everywhere. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

College Access is an Entertainment and Promotions company located in Kingston and Manchester in Jamaica. This month they have chosen to venture into films and to kick things off they’ve released the “Twisted Series“. In today’s episodes they feature 4 young men, a young a lady and her violent boyfriend with a few extras along the way. Here 3 men are caught in a rough situation with the other characters and how they handle it is a rather humorous one. We need more local stuff like this. Just watch and be entertained. Today’s music video comes from Singer Romain Virgo. Titled “Cry Tears For You” and directed by JayMac, Virgo and his lover are shown experiencing the joys of being soon to be parents, only for his lady to have a miscarriage and we witness the couple facing depression and bringing conflicts to their union. The video ends when Virgo discovers that his lady is missing only to find out she committed suicide. The video was done in flashback style where it begins at the end and the events prior to it are shown. Pretty good video and it shows what many couples and women go through when they lose a unborn child. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
