GodFather, man a OG…

Earlier this year, the Quartet of “Godfather of GrimeWiley, Dancehall Icon Sean Paul, UK Bad Gyal Stefflon Don, and “The Black James BondIdris Elba released their collaborative single titled, “Boasty“. As they joined forces to give us a bassy track to keep us feeling swaggy, it was only right they followed up with a music video. Directed by Henry Scholfield, we get a dope performance of the track by the four Artists (except Wiley part was replaced by Child Actor, Brooklyn Appiah) in four different locations (they don’t meet up in the end though). While the track is steadily gaining steam, the video is a nice touch and will get you in the mood to be flashy. Check out the video below, and share with a friend. For those unfamiliar, the Jamaican love affair with Soca and Carnival dates back to the 1940s at the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus), and the collaborations over time are just great moments in this ever growing union. With their feel good vibes and ability to bring people together, the collaborations will continue. OLDIES SUNDAY: Byron Lee & The Dragonaires x Preacher x Admiral Bailey – Dance Hall Soca (1993)

Happy Sunday! Today we celebrate a lil Dancehall, and a lil Soca with our “Oldies Sunday” selection. Going back to the year 1993, we tune in to the late Byron Lee and his Band The Dragonaires’ hit, “Dance Hall Soca“! Featuring Soca Artist Preacher and Dancehall Artist/Football Coach Admiral Bailey, we get the best of both worlds as Dancehall and Soca fans alike joined forces and partied away without care! The track was featured on the Band’s 1993 album of the same name, and it’s a fun song that became one of Byron Lee’s signature hits, and you could say one of the songs that paved the way for many Dancehall/Soca collaborations over the years. With the superb instrumentations from the Band, and Preacher and Bailey’s contributions, you could wave your rag, wine, and do the “Soca Bogle” to your heart’s content. Gospel Artist @YannickPaul_ Debuts A Song For “Any Situation”.

New York based Gospel Recording Artist Paul Nembhard a.k.a. Yannick Paul has experienced a lot in his life, and he has a story to tell the world. Formerly a Dancehall Artist who performed under the names “Don Snypa” and “Dynasty General“, his music was an outlet for the many trials he and many others have faced. Influenced by Vybz Kartel, he released tracks like “God Nah Sleep” and “Who I Am“, and even performed in a Bronx based group named “Muzik Dynasty“.

The years that followed since his stint as a Dancehall Artist found him dealing with various personal issues, and through some soul searching he gave his life to the Lord. Now deep in his Christian faith, the love of music never left his side and in 2015 he released an EP as a member of the Agape Brothers titled “Organic Theology“.

Nearly 4 years since giving his life to the Lord, Yannick Paul wants to spread the Gospel with his debut single, “Any Situation“. Produced by StrateG Music Group, Yannick sits with the listener and lets them know that no matter the current situation they’re facing, GOD will come through when you believe and wait on Him. The song also encourages the listener to know their worth and don’t succumb to the temptations out there. He also shares pieces of his journey, and expresses how thankful he is to have made the changes in his life. A song that is needed, and is definitely one to share with powerful messages embedded. Be on the look out for more from Yannick Paul!
