On today’s episode of Noisey Jamaica Dancehall Show Gaza Slim is the featured artist. We see Codine Williams, Slim and crew situated at a courthouse in Kingston where Vybz Kartel attended a court date. Here Gaza Slim told Codine about her start in the music business, meeting Vybz Kartel, his incarceration, members of the Portmore Empire, her “Addi” tattoo, and other things. They also visited the West Bank community in Portmore and spoke to a few of Kartel’s fans and learned of the impact Kartel has on the community. Here’s something you don’t hear everyday. For the kids Tommy Lee released his theme music, “Captain Sparta“. Produced by by Guzu Music, we hear Tommy deejaying cartoon references with the help of children chanting “Tommy Lee“. I have to admit I like it, this is something I never expected from the deejay and it reminds me of the theme music from popular cartoons.
