From Rags to Riches, Gully Bop can be heard and seen worldwide since his career has taken off. Unfortunately with fame comes controversy so tonight Bop joined the Onstage set to speak on his experiences. Here he spoke on his trip to the UK and his adventures there, receiving great fanfare, addressing the controversies, performing sold out shows in the Caribbean, his collaboration with Stylo G, being a target for scammers, working on new music, upcoming tours and a possible appearance at Reggae Sumfest. Gully Bop also performed a few songs for the audience. Bop is always an entertaining character when it comes to Interviews. We look forward to the “Baby Bop” and of course his upcoming performances. PRESS RELEASE: @GullyBop1000’s UK Invasion

Arguably the most talked about artiste in dancehall, Gully Bop has taken over new territory. The entertainer continues his invasion of the United Kingdom with his fourth sold-out show, held in Birmingham over the weekend. He is relishing in a publicity blitz, surfacing from radio and TV interviews connected with his first promotional tour. To top it off, he has recorded a contagious track with one of England’s leading dancehall artiste, Stylo G.

“Right now me feel good, how me come a England and them just embrace me.  Big big BBC radio a play Gully Bop non-stop and invite me in them studio. Me a get support at every show, every one of them pack! People swarm me like bees fe take picture everywhere me go. Is a thousand things and more a go on right now, so me have to give God thanks,” Gully Bop explained.

“Who She Want” is the title of the hit-bound release recorded with Stylo G. The song is entertaining, upbeat and pokes fun at both artistes. The producers are Star Traxx and Adde. Immediately upon release the brand-new song has seized high rotation on British radio.

Gully Bop will wrap the U.K. leg of this tour on Sunday, March 29th.  His closing performance will be at the Electric Brixton. Bop will then proceed to his debut performances in Grenada, Guyana, The Cayman Islands, Barbados and other Caribbean countries.

PRESS RELEASE: @GullyBop1000 Arrives In The UK For First Tour

“Body Specialist” deejay, Gully bop is now settling down after a long flight to the island of Great Britain. This marks his very first trip outside of his homeland, Jamaica. “ Well them say me never a go make it at Jamworld. Say me can’t pass Christmas to the New year, but who God bless no man curse,” Gully Bop reasoned as he dismissed naysayers upon arrival at the Gatwick Airport.

His first offshore performance is set for this Saturday at Club Diamond in Luton followed by Scala in King’s Cross, London on Sunday. Gully Bop remains in England for the remainder of March. In April he commences concerts throughout the Caribbean, before he jets off for dates in progress for Europe, the USA and Canada. Gully Bop formerly known, as Country Man has been an aspiring dancehall artiste for decades. OLDIES SUNDAY: @CharMaxRomeo – Chase The Devil (1976)


Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from “The Son Of Selassie” a.k.a. Max Romeo. Titled “Chase The Devil“, this was produced by Lee “Scratch” Perry with backing by “The Upsetters” band in 1976 for Island Records. It was also a single included in Max’s 4th studio album, “War Inna Babylon“. The song brings forth a “Good conquering evil” theme where the Devil is being a negative force on Earth and when Max dons his Iron shirt, he will fight the Devil and send him to outer space. Max later explained that the Devil is everything negative in our minds and the Iron shirt is our strength of spirit that allows one to cast out the Devil.
