He may be the “World Boss“, but Vybz Kartel has always been a family man and following in his musical footsteps today are two of his sons. With the help of Short Boss Muzik, Little Vybz (Jaheim) and Little Addi (Raheim) formed the duo PG13 and released their debut single, “Gimmi Di Money“. Here they speak on making money, how they spend it, shouting out their father and promoting “bere goodness“. What do you think of the debut effort from them? Word on the streets they are suspects, hanging with killers in the projects but today we get a remix of Rapper Que’s very popular “OG Bobby Johnson“. Featuring Vybz Kartel and remixed by DJ Lank of Code Red Sound, we get some of Kartel’s greatest badman lyrics over the popular song that has been making its rounds since last year. Tonight on Onstage, DJ Jabba of Hot 97, Massive B Sound, and Irie Jam Radio (to name a few of his many platforms) was a guest. Here he spoke about visiting his mother, being born in New York and his upbringing in Jamaica, his upcoming “Best of the Best” concert, thoughts on the Vybz Kartel trial and how it affects Dancehall Music worldwide, how promoting Dancehall Music differs in the U.S. and the difficulties faced when it comes to crossing over. Not a bad interview here, Jabba has been one of the top DJs overseas to bring the best of Dancehall to the streets and airwaves. Since Vybz Kartel’s guilty verdict a few days ago, members of the music fraternity and fans worldwide are still feeling the hit. Being one of the greats, Vybz has always had a solid work ethic when it came to recording songs. In a tribute of sorts PondEnds Radio has released a short mix that features some of Kartel’s latest recordings, couple old songs, and commentary from members of the music community. A great mix here, despite being away from the public for so long, his new material still managed to hit the airwaves. How many more years will he be away for? Will there be more music? Yesterday on Hot 97, Mr. Vegas made a guest appearance. Not a stranger to the radio station, he spoke to Cipha Sounds and Old Man Ebro about his origins including his stage names, his well publicized relationship woe and not seeing his daughter, his thoughts on Vybz Kartel’s trial and the guilty verdict, Buju Banton being in jail, trying to avoid getting in trouble, showing respect to Bounty Killa, his recording process, and highlighting that Jamaica has a lot of talent. Not a bad interview here, what I commend him for is despite having a feud with Bounty Killa, he shows him respect here and not throw him under a bus.
